APIC 2027 booths in Los Angeles that prove the kill claim on a real surface
Infection preventionists judge a product by watching it work on a bed rail, keyboard or sink, and every APIC27 exhibit hour is unopposed. At the Los Angeles Convention Center, Local 831 union labor installs under Freeman, and dismantle fits into one Wednesday afternoon.

What makes APIC different, and how we build for it
APIC27 is the world's largest gathering of infection preventionists, and every exhibit hour is unopposed, so the whole audience is on the floor at once.Attendee lunches on Monday and Tuesday and breakfast on Wednesday are served in the hall, two Exhibitor Theaters run 30-minute hot-topic sessions, and Paws for a Break brings shelter puppies onto the floor. APIC's 2027 prospectus also plans the IP Collaboration Lounge, the APIC Expert Library and the Wellness Lounge in the hall. Visitors are evidence-driven, hospital-based buyers who want to see how a product works on a real surface or in a real workflow.
Proof that a product cuts infections in practice: kill claims, contact times, compliance data and a demo on a real bed rail, keyboard or device.
A screen at standing height where they can walk through dashboards, alerts and reporting with a specialist, not a scripted loop.
Practical, budget-aware answers on training, supply and rollout, and a quiet spot to talk with a sales lead after the hall closes.
Your team in Los Angeles
Two shops, one project manager, every hall
We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the Los Angeles Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.
Your team walks into a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.
Inside APIC 2027
Rules that shape your booth
APIC islands start at 400 square feet, top out at 20 feet including hanging signs, keep solid walls to 30% of the booth with a 30% see-through effect, and need schematics approved by show management (2027 terms). We draw open frames and upload the schematics.
In linear booths anything in the front 5 feet stays at 4 feet or lower, walls reach 8 feet only in the back 5 feet, APIC sells no end caps and allows no in-booth education in linear space (2027 terms). We put demo surfaces on low counters at the aisle.
APIC caps booth sound at 70 decibels, gives one warning and then cuts power to the offending device, and bans music of any kind on the floor (2027 terms). We aim speakers into the booth and caption every video so a UV robot demo works silently.
Investigational devices and drugs may be shown at APIC27 only when clearly marked, and the exhibit background must show the generic name of any featured drug product (2027 terms). We print both onto the claims panels your regulatory team signs off.
APIC permits giveaways and prize drawings but bans tote bags, golf and tennis balls, hats, T-shirts, mugs, watches, gift certificates and drugs as handouts, and forbids selling on the floor (2027 terms). We design the booth around a demo, not a swag table.
Programs worth planning for
Two theaters on the APIC27 exhibit floor run 30-minute hot-topic sessions during the unopposed hours, listed in the APIC27 prospectus among the hall's traffic drivers; a place to tell a product story to a seated audience.
Every APIC27 exhibitor receives ten one-day passes to bring customers or prospects into the hall, plus full conference badges for booths of 10×20 and larger, scaled by booth size.
APIC is the U.S. meeting where hospital infection preventionists buy; choose it over AORN when your product is a disinfectant, hand hygiene system or surveillance tool sold to the infection control team rather than to perioperative nurses. Compare every medical devices show we build for →

Popular booth sizes at APIC
APIC27 sells linear booths such as 10×20, 10×30 and 10×40 plus 20×20 and larger islands, with exhibitor benefits that scale with booth size, and the floor draws disinfection, PPE, hand hygiene and surveillance companies. For a disinfectant or hand hygiene line we suggest a 10×20 built around one wet-demo counter; add a seated meeting corner and it becomes a 20×20 island.

A live disinfection or hand hygiene demo on one side and a software screen with a standing counter on the other.

Case study · SpecialtyRx
SpecialtyRx at a healthcare trade show
A custom island with elevated circular branding and LED tiles that stayed busy from open to close, built for visibility across the whole floor.
SpecialtyRx's healthcare island kept a crowd from first hour to last; APIC packs all of its exhibit time into three unopposed windows, so that same draw is the whole game.
Read the SpecialtyRx case study All case studies →“We were very happy with the experience and with the support provided throughout the project. The booth looked great, the coordination process was smooth, and everything was handled professionally, which made the event much easier for our team.”

04 Designing for infection prevention, disinfection and surveillance brands at APIC
Four things we get right for APIC exhibitors
1Stage demos on real clinical surfaces
Infection preventionists want to see a wipe on a bed rail, a spray on a keyboard or a dispenser at a sink. We build demo counters with replaceable clinical surfaces, drip-safe tops and hidden waste and restock storage so the booth stays clean through every lunch rush.
Clear UV demos with show management
APIC treats ultraviolet lighting as a special effect that needs written approval. For UV robots and room systems we plan shielded demo enclosures, interlocks and signage, and prepare the request for show management so your device runs live on the floor.
Build for short, packed exhibit hours
With unopposed hours of about three hours a day, the whole audience arrives at once. An open front, two staffed stations and a fast badge scan let you serve a crowd, and a seating nook keeps longer surveillance or contract talks out of the aisle.
Keep claims in a reviewable layout
APIC requires FDA-compliant labeling and clear marking of investigational devices. We lay out kill claims, contact times and outcome data in modular panels, so your regulatory team approves each one and a change in a claim does not reprint the whole wall.

Logistics for APIC 2027, handled
The Los Angeles Convention Center runs a union floor, with booth installation under Local 831, and Freeman is the official contractor for APIC27. Exhibitor move-in runs June 12–13, every booth must be carpeted by 5 p.m. Sunday and show-ready by 8 a.m. Monday, June 14, and dismantle runs only from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on June 16. Islands submit schematics to show management and keep solid walls under 30 percent. We read the exhibitor kit, file every form, send crates to Freeman's warehouse ahead of the June 12 start, and a Purple project manager leads the Local 831 crew.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Los Angeles Convention Center exhibitor guide.
Hall guide
The Los Angeles Convention Center has five exhibit halls, and the Olympic expansion is reshaping two of them. These are the halls this building uses.
Added in 1993, roughly 347,000 sq ft, and being joined to West Hall as part of the Olympic expansion construction.
Our advice: Construction changes dock routing, so we book freight targets and access against the current site plan.
Part of the original campus, being joined to South Hall to form one contiguous space of more than 750,000 sq ft.
Our advice: Long sightlines across a large hall reward a tall, readable header or hanging sign over an island.
A 160,000 sq ft hall completed in 1997, used for mid-size trade shows on the campus.
Our advice: In a mid-size hall, an open front and two staffed stations serve the unopposed crowd better than extra height.

APIC exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before APIC
How much does a booth at APIC 2027 cost?
A 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000; a custom 20×20 island lands between $50,000 and $120,000. At APIC the number moves with live demo surfaces, a UV enclosure and AV for surveillance software. APIC bills floor space separately, at $36.50 per square foot linear and $44.50 for islands.
What is the deadline to book a booth for APIC 2027?
APIC takes a non-refundable 50 percent deposit by March 1, 2027, and full booth payment is due that day; applications from March 2 must pay 100 percent upfront. We then need your design sign-off in early April so island schematics, regulatory review of your claims and our 30 to 45 day build all fit.
Can we rent a booth for APIC, and what does the rental include?
A Purple rental for APIC includes the structure, your custom graphics, counters, lighting, freight, Freeman orders, install and dismantle. Many infection control companies rent the frame and pair it with a custom demo counter with clinical surfaces, then keep that counter for their core hospital shows through the year.
Can we set up our own booth at the Los Angeles Convention Center?
The LACC is a union floor, and booth installation falls under Local 831. We book that labor through Freeman, supervise it with our own project manager, and plan the build so carpet is down by 5 p.m. Sunday and every demo passes the 8 a.m. Monday check. Your team arrives to a finished booth.
Can we run a UV disinfection demo at APIC?
Yes, with written approval. APIC treats ultraviolet lighting as a special effect, and islands also submit schematics and keep solid walls under 30 percent. We design shielded UV enclosures with interlocks and signage, prepare the approval request for show management, and lay out island walls to stay inside the open-sightline rule.
What does drayage cost at the Los Angeles Convention Center?
Material handling is billed to you by Freeman, by weight. Our planning figure for the LACC is about $175 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, with a 200 pound minimum plus standard surcharges. We ship to the Freeman advance warehouse on target, keep crates light, and price LA material handling as a separate quote line.
How does the one-day dismantle at APIC work?
Move-out opens at 10:31 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, right after the last exhibit session, and closes at 7:30 p.m. We pre-book outbound carriers and labor, pack demo equipment to your return plan, and send the booth to storage or your next show so nothing sits on the dock overnight.
Can we reuse the APIC booth at other nursing and clinical shows?
Yes. Infection prevention brands often also exhibit at AORN, AACN NTI and the AANP National Conference. We build the booth to reconfigure between an island and a linear space, store it between shows, and refresh claims panels when your regulatory team updates contact times or outcome data.
When is APIC 2027?
APIC27, the APIC Annual Conference & Exposition, runs Monday, June 14 to Wednesday, June 16, 2027, per APIC's future-dates page and the 2027 exhibitor terms. Exhibitor installation is Saturday and Sunday, June 12–13. The following meeting, APIC28, is set for June 19–21, 2028 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
When is the exhibit hall open at APIC 2027?
June 14–16, 2027, and every exhibit hour is unopposed: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, when attendee lunch is served in the hall, and 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday with breakfast. That is about seven and a half hours in total, so we staff the booth for three short peaks.
Where is APIC 2027 held?
At the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 South Figueroa Street in downtown Los Angeles, a short walk from LA Live. APIC met at the Music City Center in Nashville in 2026 and moves to Columbus, Ohio for 2028. The APIC27 housing provider is not confirmed yet; exhibitor housing and registration open in January 2027.
How many people attend APIC?
APIC25 in Phoenix drew 2,129 in-person professional attendees, 98 percent of them from the U.S., with Canada, Japan, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and the United Kingdom leading the international count. APIC's 2027 prospectus projects more than 2,150 professional attendees. A final 2026 Nashville figure is not confirmed yet.
Is APIC open to the public?
No. APIC27 is a professional conference for infection prevention and control staff, and the hall is open to registered attendees and exhibitors. Exhibitors receive four booth staff registrations per 100 square feet and ten Exhibit Hall VIP One-Day Passes for guests, and APIC keeps anyone under 18 off the floor while booths go up and come down.
How do we get a booth at APIC 2027?
APIC organizes the meeting and A. Fassano & Company sells the space. APIC assigns booths onsite in order of earned priority points, then first-come, first-served, and applications carry a 50 percent deposit. From March 2, 2027 an application must carry full payment. TENS units, lotions and cosmetic skin care are not accepted.
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for APIC:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
