What makes AWE USA different, and how we build for it
AWE USA is where the XR and spatial AI industry tries things on. The 150,000+ square foot expo is hands-on by design: the Playground for experimental activations, the Gaming Hub and LBE Zone for VR games and attractions, startups pitching live in the Startup Pitch Competition and the Auggie Awards naming the year's best work. Enterprise VIP and Government Program buyers walk the floor beside developers from the Builders Program. Every visitor expects a headset on, a demo running and a person who can explain the stack.
Hands-on time with SDKs, devices and tools, a screen showing the code or pipeline, and engineers in the booth who can answer integration questions.
Use-case demos for training, field service, design and simulation, plus a quiet table to talk deployment, security and volume pricing.
A demo that shows what the experience feels like in a few minutes, and a private space for partnership and funding conversations.
Your team in Long Beach
Two shops, one project manager, every hall
We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.
Your team walks into a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.

Popular booth sizes at AWE USA
AWE has a compact floor where 10×10 and 10×20 inlines from startups sit beside platform and device islands, and demo space drives the size more than graphics do. We recommend a 10×20 with two demo bays for a single device or app, or a 20×20 island with a padded play zone and a meeting nook.

Two demo bays with a cleaning and charging station between them, a back wall screen showing the wearer's view and a short queue line.

KLEEMANN at a industrial technology exhibition
An interactive booth for a global elevator manufacturer: digital simulations, real product showcases and a floor plan that guided visitors from first step to last.

04 Designing for XR, spatial computing and AI hardware and software brands at AWE USA
Four things we get right for AWE USA exhibitors
1Give every headset a safe zone
Room-scale demos need a clear, padded floor with no edges or cables underfoot. We size each bay from your guardian boundary, add soft barriers and a spotter position, and keep the play area out of the aisle so a swinging arm never meets a passerby.
2Show bystanders what the wearer sees
Only one person is inside the headset. We mount a screen beside each bay that mirrors the view, so the queue understands the experience, people watching become people waiting, and a photo from the aisle explains the product.
Plan headset hygiene and charging
Demo turnover depends on clean, charged devices. We build a cleaning and charging station into the counter, with locking storage, cable management and enough outlets to rotate devices all day without staff leaving the bay.
Control light and wireless noise
Inside-out tracking struggles under glare and in flat, featureless spaces. We avoid bright spots aimed at the play area, add visual texture to nearby walls and plan wired networking for demo machines so a crowded expo does not slow your demo.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this
You see the booth in 3D before we cut a single panel: layout, graphics, lighting and product positions, revised until it is right. Shown: a Purple concept for B&H.

Logistics for AWE USA 2027, handled
The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center runs a union floor, so installation and dismantling follow the show contractor's labor agreements, and material handling is billed per hundredweight with a 200 pound minimum. The waterfront campus sits on Ocean Boulevard with the Hyatt Regency, Fairmont Breakers, Westin and Marriott Long Beach Downtown all within a short walk. We read the AWE exhibitor kit, order electrical and internet for your demo machines, ship to the advance warehouse, book your move-in slot and install with our own project manager and vetted local labor, so your devices arrive to a powered, tested booth.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Long Beach Convention Center exhibitor guide.
Hall guide
AWE USA runs its 150,000+ sq ft expo at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, a waterfront campus. These are the halls this building uses and what each one means for a demo booth.
The main rectangular exhibit space of the 1994 complex, part of 225,000 sq ft of exhibit space, with standard exhibit-hall rigging and loading.
Our advice: Standard rigging and dock loading make hanging signs and large mirrored-view LED walls simple; we order rigging and power with the show contractor.
A circular arena rebuilt on the site of the 1932 Municipal Auditorium, used for large trade shows and general sessions, with its own rigging points.
Our advice: Rigging points differ from the rectangular halls, so any activation planned in the Arena gets its hanging elements drawn against the Arena grid.
A waterfront ballroom with ocean views, used across the campus for galas, receptions and general sessions.
Our advice: We check load-in access for any build planned in the ballroom and size crates and modules to fit before anything ships.

Questions exhibitors ask us before AWE USA
How much does a booth at AWE USA 2027 cost?
For a headset demo bay we start with a 10×20 rental at $7,500 to $15,000; a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. At AWE the number rises with demo bays, LED walls that mirror the headset view and padded flooring. Booth space is billed by AWE and power and labor by the show contractor.
What is the deadline to book for AWE USA 2027?
AWE's hotel group rates close between May 13 and May 24, 2027, so travel has to be settled by mid-May. For the booth, we need design sign-off in early April 2027 to build in 30 to 45 days and ship to the advance warehouse in late May with your demo hardware tested.
Can we rent a booth for AWE USA, and what does a rental include?
Yes. A rental covers the frame, your printed graphics, a demo counter, screen mounts, charging storage, lighting, freight, install and dismantle. Startups at AWE often rent for a first show and upgrade the demo bays later; we can add a padded play zone or a mirrored-view screen to any rental.
Can we set up our own booth at the Long Beach Convention Center?
Not beyond small hand work. Long Beach runs a union floor, and installation and dismantling are union work. We run the install with our project manager and union labor, then your team arrives to plug in headsets on a powered, tested booth.
How much floor space does a room-scale VR demo need at AWE?
Size each bay from the headset's guardian boundary, then add a spotter position and a buffer so arms never reach the aisle. Seated demos fit a 10×10; room-scale experiences need the open floor of a 10×20 or an island. We draw every bay to your device's boundary before we price the booth.
What does drayage cost in Long Beach and who pays it?
The exhibitor pays material handling, billed per hundredweight with a 200 pound minimum. We plan Long Beach around $170 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, consolidate crates so you pay one minimum, and put the drayage estimate on your proposal next to the build so nothing arrives as a surprise.
Can we reuse the AWE booth at InfoComm, NAB Show or SPIE?
Yes. We build demo bays and screen walls in modules, so the same kit can go to InfoComm in Orlando, NAB Show in Las Vegas or SPIE Optics + Photonics in San Diego with new graphics. Between shows the booth sits in our storage and gets checked and repaired before it ships.
We are exhibiting from outside the US. Can you help at AWE?
We handle the US side: building or renting the booth, receiving your freight at the advance warehouse, ordering power and internet, installing and dismantling, and storing the booth for your next US show. Your customs broker clears the goods; we take it from the warehouse door.
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for AWE USA:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
