CLEO's buyers are laser scientists between sessions, so the booth has to show a beam, a spec and a lab use case in the minutes they spend on the floor. We build to CLEO's pipe-and-drape packages at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center and run the two-day install and teardown.

What makes CLEO different, and how we build for it
CLEO is the research end of the laser business.Optica runs it with the APS Division of Laser Science and the IEEE Photonics Society, and the week carries more than 2,000 technical presentations across Fundamental Science, Science & Innovations and Applications & Technology, plus Special Symposia and A&T Topical Reviews. The exhibition is two days in the middle of a six-day program, so traffic arrives in waves between sessions. The New Exhibitor Pavilion gives first-timers a turnkey spot, and the CLEO Career Zone is new for 2027. Visitors run labs and buy for them: a booth wins with a working source, a readable spec sheet and a scientist who can talk about their experiment.

Inside CLEO 2027
CLEO rules that shape your booth
Every CLEO 10×10 comes with an 8 ft back drape, 3 ft side drapes and a 7-by-44-inch ID sign, sold in 10 ft increments (2027). We build back walls and counters that sit inside the drape line and cover it fully.
The 5×8 kiosk ships as a set package: branded 8×8 back wall, lockable counter, two barstools, carpet and one 120V outlet. We supply the graphic and a counter-top display that fits the kiosk, nothing structural.
Short Course Sponsorship is open only to exhibiting companies, with content subject to CLEO approval and no sales pitch (2027). We keep the booth as the place for product talk and point course attendees to it.
New Exhibitor Pavilion spaces include overhead signage and full booth carpeting from the organizer, for first-time exhibitors only. We provide graphics and a counter that work inside the pavilion's shared look.

Four things we get right for CLEO exhibitors
1Enclose the beam, show the result
A live laser sells at CLEO, but the beam stays inside the instrument or an enclosure. We build the demo bay with a closed housing, a camera on the output and a monitor showing the spot, spectrum or pulse trace, so the proof is visible from the Long Beach aisle.
2Write the spec wall for scientists
CLEO visitors read numbers: wavelength, average power, pulse width, noise. We lay out a spec wall like a good datasheet, product family by product family, with one application photo each, and leave marketing taglines out.
3Staff for the session breaks
With the exhibition on May 4 and 5 only, traffic peaks when sessions break and the floor is quiet in between. We put a fast-read zone at the aisle for the rush and a seated table at the back for the researcher who stays twenty minutes.
4Pack a kit that travels to Photonics West

Logistics for CLEO 2027, handled
The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center sits on East Ocean Boulevard by the harbor, an easy walk from downtown hotels, and CLEO 2027 runs its exhibition on two days inside a six-day week. That leaves little room for a slow install. Each booth comes with 8 ft back drape and 3 ft side drape and a 7-by-44-inch ID sign; kiosks come built. We read the exhibitor kit when it opens, order power and internet, ship to the official contractor's advance warehouse, install with our own project manager and vetted Southern California labor, and pack out after the May 5 close.

Live sources are common at CLEO, and the venue and show rules on lasers arrive with the 2027 exhibitor kit. We design the demo with an enclosed beam path and a camera on the output so it passes review and still shows the result.
When is move-in for CLEO 2027?
The 2027 exhibitor kit is not posted yet, so move-in and dismantle times are not confirmed yet. The exhibition runs May 4 and 5, 2027, and we plan the install around the kit's schedule so the booth is lit and checked before the doors open.
