What makes Embedded Vision Summit different, and how we build for it

Since 2012 the Embedded Vision Summit has focused on one thing: putting computer vision and physical AI into shipping products. For 2027 it becomes part of SPIE Photonics West, sitting alongside the Vision Tech Forum as part of the Vision Tech Expo, and the free Exhibition Only Pass opens more than 1,400 Photonics West exhibits to Summit visitors. The Summit runs almost 100 sessions, an Enabling Technologies track for commercial processors and tools, an Edge AI Deep Dive Day, a Women in Vision Reception and a 4 pm expo happy hour. Visitors are product creators choosing building blocks, and the Summit says the floor is known for its demos.

Vision and embedded engineers

A demo they can test themselves: a camera, a processor board and the model running on it, with latency and power figures on screen.

Engineering managers and product leaders

Which building block fits their product, cost and roadmap, explained by the people who built it, plus a quiet spot for a follow-up.

04 Designing for AI processor, image sensor, camera module, vision software and edge AI tool companies at Embedded Vision Summit

Four things we get right for Embedded Vision Summit exhibitors

Camera lens element catching light on a dark surface1

Show the camera and the result together

A vision demo only works when the visitor sees what the camera sees and what the model makes of it. We mount the camera in a lit scene the visitor can change, with the detection overlay on a large screen beside the processor board.

Young engineer adjusting a camera module while checking results on a laptop2

Control the light for the demo

Hall lighting at Moscone West can wash out an imaging demo. We build hoods and controlled backdrops for each station, light the scene with steady LEDs and keep the booth glow off the camera's field of view.

Western span of the Bay Bridge at dusk with the San Francisco skyline3

Built for the 4 pm rush

The Summit closes each expo day with a 4 pm happy hour, and traffic surges between sessions. We leave space for a second row of visitors to watch each demo and give staff a counter to hand off leads fast.

Four-legged robot walking across outdoor patio tiles4

Speak to Photonics West too

With the Summit now inside Photonics West, optics and sensor engineers walk the same floor. We add a clear line on each station for the optics, sensor and wavelength behind the demo, so both audiences read the booth.

Logistics for Embedded Vision Summit 2027, handled

The 2027 Summit moves from its May home in Santa Clara to Moscone West, 800 Howard Street, inside the SPIE Photonics West week. Moscone West stands across 4th Street from the North and South buildings, and union crews handle booth work there under the center's agreements. With exhibits open February 2 to 4 from 10 a.m., we schedule move-in so cameras and boards can be calibrated under show lighting before the first visitor. We ship to the advance warehouse, order power and internet for each demo, handle drayage, and a Purple project manager leads the vetted local crew from first crate to last.

What Purple handles

  • Demo stations with camera rigs, lit scenes and results screens
  • Lighting hoods that keep hall light off imaging demos
  • Graphics and counters for 6-foot tables and 10×10 booths
  • Advance-warehouse freight, drayage and union install at Moscone West
  • Reception and suite graphics for sponsors
  • Storage and reuse for Photonics West, embedded world and Sensors Converge

Embedded Vision Summit exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before Embedded Vision Summit

What are the Embedded Vision Summit 2027 dates?

February 2 to 4, 2027, in San Francisco. Exhibits open each of the three days from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Thursday, February 4 is Edge AI Deep Dive Day, with the Practical AI Agents training the same day.

Where is the Embedded Vision Summit 2027 held?

At Moscone West, 800 Howard Street, San Francisco, as part of SPIE Photonics West. The Summit previously met in Santa Clara in May; its 2026 edition ran May 11 to 13, 2026 in Silicon Valley.

How much does a booth at the Embedded Vision Summit 2027 cost?

2027 packages: a 6-foot table $3,529 (Alliance member) or $4,152, a 10×10 $6,548 or $7,703, a Sapphire 20×10 corner $20,325 or $22,826, an Emerald 20×10 corner $29,325 or $35,326, and a Diamond 20×20 island $60,252 or $73,865.

What is included with an Embedded Vision Summit table?

The 6-foot table package includes a 2-by-6-foot draped table, a 500-watt electrical outlet, a booth ID sign and a waste basket, plus a listing on SPIE.org, slideshow mentions, Alliance promotion, a conference pass, badges for booth staff and lead retrieval.

Who exhibits at the Embedded Vision Summit?

The 2027 list so far includes AMD, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., STMicroelectronics, Lattice Semiconductor, Microchip Technology and Cadence, camera and optics makers such as Arducam, D3 Embedded, Optotune and Sunex, and vision software companies such as Visidon, Visionary.ai and EyePop.ai.

How many people attend the Embedded Vision Summit?

The Summit cites 3,000+ attendees and 60+ exhibitors, and says that in 2026, 88% of attendees connected with potential suppliers or customers. 96% of exhibitors would recommend exhibiting or sponsoring to a colleague, per the Summit.

What does joining SPIE Photonics West change for exhibitors?

Registration now runs through the Photonics West website, and the Exhibition Only Pass is free, giving visitors access to more than 1,400 Photonics West exhibits plus the Summit's Enabling Technology talks and plenaries. That widens your aisle traffic to optics and photonics engineers.

Can we present a talk about our product at the Summit?

Talks by building-block suppliers (processors, software tools, algorithms, sensors, camera modules, data labeling) require a sponsorship fee when the topic relates to the company's products. Diamond and Emerald packages include product-related presentations, two and one respectively.

Who organizes the Embedded Vision Summit?

SPIE, the optics and photonics society behind Photonics West, runs the Summit together with the Edge AI and Vision Alliance, an industry partnership founded in 2011 with nearly 100 member companies. Alliance members get lower booth prices.

How does move-in work at Moscone West for the Summit?

Moscone booth work is union labor under the center's contractor agreements. Our project manager directs vetted local labor for install and teardown, and we schedule time for your engineers to calibrate cameras before the 10 a.m. opening.

What is Edge AI Deep Dive Day?

An event-within-an-event on Thursday, February 4, 2027, where leading companies run in-depth sessions on visual and physical AI. Sponsors can host one, with presentations, demos and networking, and attendees buy Deep Dive tickets with or without a Full Conference Pass.

Can Purple build our Embedded Vision Summit booth and reuse it?

Our demo stations are modular, so the same kit can serve the Photonics West week, embedded world North America in Long Beach in October and Sensors Converge in Santa Clara. We store it in Fishkill, NY or Las Vegas between shows.

When should we order an Embedded Vision Summit 2027 booth?

With the Summit in early February, approve the design by late November 2026 so a 30 to 45 day build ships in early January. The Summit says sponsorships are selling quickly, so lock the package first.

What hotels are near Moscone West for the Embedded Vision Summit?

Downtown San Francisco hotels sit near Moscone West, and the Summit lists the venue and hotels on its site; the 2027 hotel block is not confirmed yet. San Francisco International (SFO) is about 25 to 40 minutes from Moscone by car, per the Purple venue guide.
