What makes IEEE ESW different, and how we build for it
The Electrical Safety Workshop is a technical forum run by the IEEE Industry Applications Society's Electrical Safety Committee, founded in 1991 by the IAS Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee. Its attendees are the engineers, managers and trainers who write and run electrical safety programs at their companies, and they come for 34 technical papers and tutorials (2026 program), not to shop. The Workshop's Policy on Business Ethics, Commercialism, and Vendor Entertainment Etiquette keeps product talk out of the technical sessions, so the Products and Services Exhibition on Wednesday afternoon and the evening hospitality rooms are where vendors may sell. Attendees also vote a Best Product of the ESW award at the exhibition.
Proof that a product or service lowers arc-flash or shock risk in a way they can defend to plant leadership, with data, not sales language.
Technical depth on safe-by-design switchgear, remote racking, incident energy studies and PPE ratings from people who know the standards they help write.
Training aids, publications and software they can use with their own clients, and a contact who will follow up after the workshop.
Your team in Reno
Two shops and one project manager for IEEE ESW
Production happens in our own shop in Fishkill, NY, and at our Las Vegas hub, and we ship to the Peppermill Resort and install with vetted local labor, led by our own project manager on the floor. Turnaround is a predictable 30 to 45 days, with pre-show QA and secure storage for your IEEE ESW booth.
At IEEE ESW, your team walks into a booth that is lit and stocked. You just show up.

- Back to Reno at the Peppermill
After Round Rock, Texas in 2026, ESW 2027 meets at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, March 22–26. The airport is under three miles away with a free shuttle, so a carry-on tabletop kit can travel with your team. source
- Lead capture moves to EventMobi
ESW is switching to EventMobi Exhibitor Lead Capture, one $200 license per booth on any smartphone, with no API for other systems. Plan to export leads from the app after the three-hour exhibition instead of using your own scanners. source
Inside IEEE ESW 2027
Rules that shape your booth
Under ESW's Commercialism policy, signs, posters, banners and products belong only in the Products Exhibition, hospitality rooms or an event you support. We build a display that lives on your table and packs away, so nothing strays into sessions.
Vendor hospitality rooms must close during official Workshop activities and shut to guests half an hour before they begin, and vendors notify the organizing committee before booking with the hotel. We plan suite graphics around those hours.
ESW bars vendors from drawing registrants away from scheduled activities, including product displays or demos outside the exhibition room while it is open. Every demo you plan for March 24 goes on the table we build.
At least one person from each exhibiting company needs a full Workshop registration, and every other representative registers as attendee, companion, exhibitor or $50 exhibitor helper. We build the staffing plan into your timeline.
Promotional items must be reasonable and customary, cash or cash equivalents are prohibited, and the Workshop logo needs the Electrical Safety Committee chair's written approval. We keep giveaways and graphics within those limits.
Programs worth planning for
An award voted by attendees at the Products and Services Exposition; exhibitors opt in through a question on the booth selection page during registration.
First come, first served support of socials, meals and refreshment breaks; supporters may display literature at the event they support and receive a recognition sign.
Five awards, including the William C. Jordan Award and the Excellence in Prevention through Design Award, recognize contributions to electrical safety during the Workshop.
ESW is where U.S. electrical safety program owners meet; choose it over NETA PowerTest when you sell arc-flash protection, safe-by-design equipment or safety services to the engineers who set policy, and accept a single three-hour tabletop exhibition. 02 Booths & pricing for IEEE ESW 2027
Popular booth sizes at IEEE ESW
ESW sells one booth package: pipe and drape, a 6-foot table, two chairs, carpet and 120V power, open for a single three-hour exhibition. It sells no 10×20 or island space. We build what fits that space: tabletop displays, a lit backdrop within the drape, and graphics for your hospitality room.

Not part of the ESW exhibition; for ESW we put the same story onto a tabletop display, and keep this size for larger utility and testing shows.

Shapoorji Pallonji at an engineering and infrastructure exhibition
A structured, powerful booth for a global engineering group founded in 1865, built to communicate scale, trust and engineering excellence.
Shapoorji Pallonji's booth had to signal engineering trust at a glance; ESW exhibitors face a more demanding version, a safety engineer judging credibility across one 6-foot table.

Four things we get right for IEEE ESW exhibitors
1One afternoon, one table
The ESW exhibition runs Wednesday, March 24 from 3 to 6 p.m. and nowhere else. We build a tabletop kit that sets up in minutes on the 6-foot table: a lit backdrop, one demo object such as a remote racking tool or PPE sample, and a single hazard-to-answer graphic.
2Keep the sales pitch on the table
The Commercialism policy confines signs, banners, products and literature to the exhibition and hospitality rooms. We make your display self-contained and easy to strike, so nothing stays out in session areas and your team stays inside the rules.
3Hospitality rooms do the selling
Vendors may host hospitality rooms for individual commercial discussions, but must close them during official ESW activities and notify the organizing committee before booking with the hotel. We supply portable graphics and a product display that travel from the table to the suite.
4Write for the people who write the rules
ESW attendees sit on NFPA and IEEE committees. We keep graphics factual, cite the standard clause your product addresses and leave room for a short data panel, the format that earns trust from a safety engineer.

Where you could be at IEEE ESW 2027
ESW has not named the Peppermill rooms it uses for 2027. These are the parts of the Workshop week that shape an exhibitor's plan at the resort.
Products and Services Exhibition
One session, Wednesday, March 24, 3 to 6 p.m., with pipe-and-drape booths, a 6-foot table, carpet and 120V power in each.
Our advice Bring a tabletop kit that goes up in minutes; there is no multi-day move-in to absorb mistakes.
Hospitality rooms
Vendor rooms for individual commercial discussions, closed during official activities; the 2027 schedule sets evening hospitality suite slots after the receptions.
Our advice We dress a suite with portable graphics and product displays, and pack them to move from the exhibition table.
Tuscany Tower
The Peppermill tower ESW names as most convenient to the conference and meeting spaces.
Our advice Book exhibit staff here so restocking the table or the suite takes minutes, not a walk across the resort.

IEEE ESW exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before IEEE ESW
When is the 2027 IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop?
ESW 2027 runs March 22–26, 2027 in Reno, Nevada. The Products and Services Exhibition takes place on Wednesday, March 24, from 3 to 6 p.m., between afternoon general sessions and the evening program. ESW 2028 follows on March 4–10, 2028 in Orlando.
Where is ESW 2027 held?
At the Peppermill Resort, 2707 S. Virginia St. in Reno, less than three miles from Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO). The hotel's Tuscany Tower is closest to the conference and meeting spaces, and the Peppermill runs a free airport shuttle every half hour.
How much does an ESW exhibit booth cost?
For 2027, an exhibit booth costs $1,450 for IEEE members and $1,815 for non-members on or before January 31, 2027, then $1,620 and $1,985. Each includes one full workshop registration, one exhibitor helper badge, pipe and drape, a 6-foot table, two chairs, carpet and 120V power.
How long is the ESW exhibition open?
Three hours: Wednesday, March 24, 2027, from 3 to 6 p.m. ESW calls it the best electrical safety conference for actionable leads, saying a single afternoon brings more valuable conversations than most multi-day product exhibitions.
How many people attend ESW?
The 2026 Workshop in Round Rock, Texas drew 719 attendees, including 213 first-time attendees, plus 70 companions; ESW called it record-breaking attendance. The program ran 34 technical papers and eight tutorials.
Can we host a hospitality room at ESW?
ESW encourages vendor hospitality rooms for customer meetings, but they must close during official Workshop activities, shut to guests half an hour before those start, and be reported to the organizing committee before you book with the hotel. The principal host needs a full registration.
What are the ESW rules for commercial content?
Under ESW's Policy on Business Ethics, Commercialism, and Vendor Entertainment Etiquette, technical presentations stay generic, and signs, banners, products and literature belong only in the exhibition, hospitality rooms or a supported event. Cash gifts are banned and the Workshop logo needs written approval.
What is the Best Product of the ESW award?
An award voted on by attendees at the Products and Services Exposition on Wednesday. Exhibitors opt in through a question at the bottom of the booth selection page when they register, so decide before you book the booth.
Who organizes ESW?
The IEEE Industry Applications Society's Electrical Safety Committee (ESafeC), which took responsibility for the Workshop in 2012. The IAS Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee founded ESW in 1991 and held the first Workshop in 1992.
Can attendees earn CEUs at ESW?
Attendees can earn 2.5 CEUs (25 PDHs) for all technical sessions and another 0.8 CEU for two tutorials, up to 3.3 CEUs, when they register for credits and submit the evaluations. That keeps safety engineers in the session rooms most of the week.
How do exhibitors capture leads at ESW?
ESW moved to EventMobi Exhibitor Lead Capture, a smartphone app at $200 per booth license for all staff. There is no API, so other lead retrieval systems cannot connect to the attendee database.
Where should ESW exhibitors stay?
In the Peppermill block, booked online through the ESW passkey link or by phone with group code AESW27. ESW says attendees who stay outside the Peppermill may be charged a $200 fee during registration, which covers meeting costs the block would otherwise carry.
Is ESW worth exhibiting at?
It is for companies whose buyers set electrical safety policy: arc-flash protection, safe-by-design equipment, studies, training and publications. The table is small and the window short, so it rewards a focused message and a strong hospitality room rather than a big build.
Can Purple build a 10×20 booth for ESW?
Not at ESW, which sells one pipe-and-drape booth with a 6-foot table. We build a tabletop display, backdrop and hospitality room graphics for ESW, and the larger booth you take to PowerTest or DistribuTECH.
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for IEEE ESW:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Is the booth built in your own shop or by a subcontractor?
- Who from your team is on the IEEE ESW floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- What happens to the booth after IEEE ESW, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? Bring it: we refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it at IEEE ESW and store it until the next show. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to IEEE ESW.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground at the Peppermill Resort: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager on your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A IEEE ESW rental carrying your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. On the first call, we tell you what is realistic for IEEE ESW.
