Grid tech utilities can test: DTECH 2027 booths in Atlanta

DTECH buyers are utility engineers and operators who want to see how a meter, relay or grid platform behaves on their system, so we build booths around one live scenario. At the Georgia World Congress Center we label crates by building and booth and book the dock times.

  • Mar 1–4 · GWCC Atlanta
  • 684 exhibitors in 2026
  • Host: Southern Company

What makes DTECH different, and how we build for it

DTECH is the annual meeting point between utilities and the companies selling them grid technology, and it changes host city and host utility from one edition to the next. For 2027 Clarion Events brings it to the Georgia World Congress Center with Southern Company as host utility, which shapes the technical program and adds tours of Southern Company facilities. Itron is the presenting sponsor. The organizer cites 3,800+ utility attendees and 800+ speakers, and on March 4 the Data Center Leadership Summit and the Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit put hyperscalers, RTOs and wildfire planners in the same building. Initiate gives startups a pitch stage in front of utility judges, so the floor mixes established vendors with very young companies.

Utility engineers and operations managers

They want to see your device or platform handle a fault, a storm or a load spike on a system like theirs, then ask how it integrates with what they already run.

Utility IT, OT and grid-modernization leads

Architecture, cybersecurity posture and deployment references matter more than the slogan; a seated demo station and a whiteboard conversation win them.

Data center and large-load teams

The 2027 summit brings hyperscaler energy teams and RTO planners looking for interconnection, flexibility and on-site power answers they can take back to a project.

Your team in Atlanta

Two shops and one project manager for DTECH

Your DTECH booth is built in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, or at our Las Vegas hub, shipped to the Georgia World Congress Center and installed by vetted local labor with our own project manager on the floor. Every DTECH build runs a predictable 30 to 45 days and gets a pre-show QA, with secure storage after.

At DTECH, your team walks into a booth that is lit and stocked. You just show up.

New at DTECH 2027

  1. Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center

After San Diego in 2026, DTECH moves to the Georgia World Congress Center for March 1–4, 2027. East Coast and Southeast exhibitors gain a shorter freight run, and the host utility changes with the city, so the technical program now centers on Southern Company projects. source

  2. Data Center Leadership Summit joins DTECH

The summit was a standalone event and is now integrated into DTECH 2027 on March 4, with hyperscalers, RTOs and utility large-load teams. Plan staff for the final day, when a buyer group that used to meet elsewhere is in the building. source

  3. Southern Company hosts

Southern Company is the 2027 host utility, with utility-defined sessions and facility tours built around transmission reinforcement, wide-area monitoring and dynamic line rating. Booths that speak to those projects meet visitors fresh from the sessions. source

DTECH rules that shape your booth

Inline booths get an 8-foot backwall

DTECH sets every inline booth with one 8-foot drape backwall, 3-foot side dividers and a company ID sign, with space from 10×10 up. We size inline graphics and lightboxes to that backwall and keep the side runs low so neighbors' sightlines stay open.

Organizer rule

Staff passes scale with square feet

Each company gets two complimentary all-access passes plus two booth staff passes per 100 square feet, with more sold at a discount. We plan demo stations to the staff count your footprint brings, so no station sits unattended.

Organizer rule

No attendee lists from DTECH

DTECH does not distribute attendee lists and warns that anyone selling one is not authorized; contact happens in the private app or at the booth. We build a clear scan point and a scheduled-briefing board into the front of the exhibit.

Organizer rule

Only Connections Housing books rooms

DTECH names Connections Housing as its only official housing company and calls other hotel callers a scam. We plan your team's arrival for Sunday, February 28 and leave room booking to the official link in your registration.

Organizer rule

Children under 14 stay home

DTECH does not admit children under 14 and reviews minors aged 15 and older case by case. Family members of booth staff need their own approval, so we plan staffing with adults only.

02 Booths & pricing for DTECH 2027

Popular booth sizes at DTECH

DTECH sells space from 10×10 upward on its Map Your Show floor plan and publishes no rate card. Software and metering firms do well in 10×20 and 10×30 inlines, and equipment makers with a hanging sign need island space. We recommend a 10×20 for one live demo station, and an island once you show hardware and run meetings.

A structured, powerful booth for a global engineering group founded in 1865, built to communicate scale, trust and engineering excellence.

Shapoorji Pallonji's booth had to make a 160-year-old engineering group read as scale and trust; DTECH exhibitors face the same test with utility buyers who judge reliability first.

04 Designing for grid technology, transmission and distribution equipment, metering and utility software companies at DTECH

Four things we get right for DTECH exhibitors

Overhead power line conductors against a blue sky1

Show the grid event, not the brochure

DTECH visitors run distribution systems. We build the booth around one scripted scenario, a feeder fault, a storm restoration or a demand peak, played on a large screen with the physical device beside it, so a utility engineer sees cause and effect in under two minutes.

Industrial control room lined with electrical panels and monitoring screens2

Speak to Southern Company's agenda

Southern Company is host utility in 2027 and its program features wide-area monitoring, dynamic line rating and storm hardening. If your product touches those topics, we give that story its own graphic panel and demo, because utility visitors arrive primed by the sessions.

Downtown Atlanta skyscrapers above Freedom Parkway, seen from the Jackson Street Bridge on a clear day3

Make room for data-center buyers

The Data Center Leadership Summit joins DTECH on March 4, 2027, bringing hyperscaler and large-load teams. A separate panel or screen for interconnection, backup and on-site power applications lets your staff switch audiences without rebuilding the conversation.

Midtown Atlanta skyline rising above Lake Clara Meer in Piedmont Park4

Capture leads in the booth

DTECH does not hand out attendee lists; registered attendees find each other in the private mobile app. We design a scan point at the front of the booth and a reason to stop, a demo time board or a scheduled briefing, so the contacts you leave with are the ones you met.

Where you could be at DTECH 2027

DTECH has not published which GWCC exhibit hall it uses in 2027; its agenda places sessions in Building B rooms. These are the campus buildings, from Purple's venue guide, and what each means for a grid booth.

ABuilding A
BBuilding B
CBuilding C and Exhibit Hall BC
Georgia World Congress Center, AtlantaSchematic, not to scale
A

Building A

The oldest building on campus, dating from 1976 and enlarged in later phases; association conferences and large trade shows both use it.

Our advice If your booth lands in an A hall, we route hardware crates to that building's docks and keep demo screens on one labeled set.

B

Building B

Built in 2002 as Phase IV and now joined to Building C; DTECH’s 2027 session rooms, including B305 and B312 to B316 for the Data Center Leadership Summit, are here.

Our advice Session rooms in Building B mean traffic flows between talks and the floor; we place your demo where people arrive from sessions when the plan allows.

C

Building C and Exhibit Hall BC

Exhibit Hall BC, opened in 2020 as a 140,000-square-foot link, joins Buildings B and C into more than a million square feet of continuous floor.

Our advice The most flexible space for large islands; we check clearances for hanging signs and tall hardware before the drawings go in.

Logistics for DTECH 2027, handled

The GWCC campus has three connected buildings, and the 2027 agenda puts DTECH sessions in Building B meeting rooms; the exhibit hall assignment is not confirmed yet. Under Georgia law no union card is needed for your own payroll staff to put up a display, though freight and utilities still route through the official contractor. For drayage, Purple’s GWCC guide plans on roughly $150 per hundredweight, 200 pounds minimum. Once Clarion releases the exhibitor kit we file the service orders, send crates to the advance warehouse on its window and run the install with a Purple project manager and vetted Atlanta labor. The MARTA station sits at the front door.

DTECH exhibitors can find this building's hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines in our Georgia World Congress Center exhibitor guide.

What Purple handles

  • Demo stations built around a grid scenario
  • Rated bases for switches, reclosers and meters
  • Hanging sign and lighting for island booths
  • DTECH service orders and advance-warehouse freight
  • Installation with our project manager on the floor
  • Storage and reuse for IEEE PES T&D 2028

DTECH exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before DTECH

When is DTECH 2027?

DTECH 2027 runs Monday, March 1 through Thursday, March 4, 2027, and the organizer suggests arriving Sunday, February 28 and leaving Friday, March 5. The Data Center Leadership Summit and the Wildfire & Resiliency Strategy Summit both run on Thursday, March 4, from 9:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where is DTECH 2027 held?

DTECH 2027 is at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta, at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW. Southern Company is the host utility, so its engineers and planners shape the program and lead facility tours. The 2026 edition was in San Diego.

What are the DTECH 2027 exhibit hall hours?

The 2027 exhibit hall dates and hours are not confirmed yet; DTECH has published the March 1–4 event dates and the summit times but not the hall schedule. We plan installation from the exhibitor kit once Clarion releases it and share the move-in window with your team the same day.

How many people attend DTECH?

DTECH 2026 drew more than 18,000 industry professionals from 73 countries and all 50 states, with 684 exhibitors, according to the organizer's recap. Utilities made up 42% of attendees, and utility attendance rose 20% over 2025. For 2027 DTECH cites 3,800+ utility attendees and 800+ speakers.

How much does a booth at DTECH 2027 cost?

Clarion Events sells DTECH space through its sales team and publishes no rate card, so space cost comes from your contract. For the exhibit itself, a 10×20 rental typically runs $7,500 to $15,000 and a 20×20 custom island $50,000 to $120,000; live hardware, screens and a meeting room move the number.

What comes with a DTECH booth?

Every inline booth includes one 8-foot drape backwall, 3-foot side dividers and a company ID sign. Each exhibiting company also gets two complimentary all-access passes, plus two booth staff passes for every 100 square feet of space, with extra passes sold at a discount.

Who exhibits at DTECH?

DTECH counted 684 exhibitors in 2026, 30% of them new that year: makers of transmission and distribution equipment, metering and AMI, grid software, communications, DER and storage, plus EPCs and consultants. Itron is the 2027 presenting sponsor, and the Initiate program adds startups pitching to utility judges.

Is DTECH open to the public?

DTECH is a registered industry event. All Access badges cover the conference and PDH eligibility, while Exhibition Passes cover the hall, keynotes, Knowledge Hubs and welcome receptions. Children under 14 are not permitted, and minors 15 and older are approved case by case.

Can we get the DTECH attendee list?

DTECH does not distribute attendee lists; registered attendees browse participants in a private mobile app, where 2026 users made 4,987 connections and 1,786 scheduled meetings. Offers to sell a DTECH list come from outside companies, and the organizer warns exhibitors about them.

Where should DTECH exhibitors stay?

Connections Housing is the only official housing company for DTECH, and the hotel link comes in your registration confirmation. The discounted rate deadline is February 4, 2027. Cancel by January 19 to avoid fees; from January 20 a $100 fee applies on top of the hotel's own policy.

Can startups exhibit at DTECH?

Through Initiate: companies with fewer than 25 employees, no more than $15 million in funding and under six years old can apply. Fifty-six startups take part, each pitching for five minutes plus five minutes of judges' questions, and the top three win a free 10×10 at DTECH 2028.

Can we set up our own booth at the Georgia World Congress Center?

Georgia does not require union labor for an exhibitor’s full-time employees, so your staff can generally build and strike their own display at the GWCC. Freight handling and utilities still go through DTECH’s official contractor. We engineer for quick assembly and send our project manager when the exhibit needs more hands.

Can we reuse a DTECH booth at other utility shows?

We design DTECH booths to come apart into modules that travel. The same structure can return for IEEE PES T&D 2028, which is also at the Georgia World Congress Center, or shrink to a 10×20 for TechAdvantage in San Diego or APPA's E&O Conference, with storage between shows.

Is DTECH worth exhibiting at?

For companies selling grid technology to North American utilities it is the yearly show to plan around: 81% of 2026 attendees were decision-makers and 69% were managers or above, per the organizer. Firms selling heavy substation equipment often add IEEE PES T&D in even years.

Before you sign for DTECH

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for DTECH:

  1. Will the proposal show every DTECH fee, including show contractor charges?
  2. Does your own shop build the booth, or do you subcontract it?
  3. Will your own project manager be at DTECH for install and dismantle?
  4. For DTECH, what is in the rental and what is billed by the show?
  5. Once DTECH closes, where does the booth go and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh its graphics, repair what is worn, ship and install it for DTECH, and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to DTECH.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A DTECH rental carrying your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. On the first call, we tell you what is realistic for DTECH.
