Engineers walk the APEC floor with a design problem, so we build counters where they can read a waveform, hold a part and leave with a sample request. In Halls B and C we work to T3 Expo's set-up windows and finish before the 3 p.m. Monday cutoff.

What makes APEC different, and how we build for it
APEC is the IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, sponsored by the Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA), the IEEE Power Electronics Society and the IEEE Industry Applications Society.The 42nd edition returns to New Orleans, where the first APEC met at the Fairmont Hotel in 1986. Around the exposition run Professional Education Seminars, Technical Sessions with dialogue posters, Industry Sessions, Debate Sessions and Exhibitor Presentations, close to 1,000 presentations in all. That rhythm sets the floor: engineers come out of a session on GaN gate drive or magnetics loss and walk straight to the companies that make the parts, which is why the Exposition opens with Monday's welcome reception and closes early Wednesday afternoon.
A part they can see on a real board, the efficiency or thermal curve that proves it, and a way to request samples or an evaluation kit before they leave the aisle.
Reference designs for motor drives, UPS, inverters and data center power shelves, with someone at the counter who can talk topology rather than read a brochure.
Live measurements on instruments, simulators and hardware-in-the-loop rigs, plus lead times and qualification data for the components they will build with.

After San Antonio in 2026, APEC 2027 moves to the Morial Convention Center, the city of the first APEC in 1986. Booths stored in Texas or the Southeast have a short haul, and the expo sits in Halls B and C of a two-mile building, so dock assignments matter. source

New for 2027, a partner's guaranteed 30-minute Exhibitor Presentation can be scheduled during the Monday Opening Reception, when the room is already full. Plan the booth graphics and demo to match the talk, because visitors walk over right after it. source

APEC 2027 partners get their crates back first through T3 Expo and clear the floor faster at load-out. With breakdown starting at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, that can mean leaving New Orleans a day earlier. source
Inside APEC 2027
Rules that shape your APEC booth
Exhibitors with 400 sq ft or more submit the booth design to APEC show management through the Exhibitor Portal; smaller booths follow IAEE guidelines and must change on site if they break them. We send drawings early and design inside the line-of-sight rules.
APEC requires each exhibitor to install protective floor covering at its own expense, and carpet, furnishings and power are ordered separately through T3 Expo. We spec the floor with the booth and add it to your order list.
Exhibitors carry $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate general liability naming IEEE and the Morial, plus workers' compensation, and APEC bars set-up without the certificates. We collect and upload them weeks before move-in.
Every APEC exhibit must be open and staffed during show hours, and exhibitors must leave the Exposition as soon as it closes each night. We lock demo boards and samples into the counter so nothing sits exposed overnight.
Electrical outlets and internet at APEC 2027 come from the convention center (ENCNO), not T3 Expo; basic Wi-Fi is free, extra bandwidth is paid. We size the circuits to every live demo and order them together.
Programs worth planning for
Packages open only to APEC exhibitors, with logo placement across the website, app and venue, pre-show attendee data, and Priority Points that carry over to APEC 2028 booth selection.
Sessions where exhibiting companies present new products or initiatives; General Attendee registration includes them, so they reach visitors who skip the paid technical program.
Tuesday, March 9, 2027, 2 to 4 p.m. in the Grand Hall Foyer; open to exhibitors and non-exhibitors, each table with two staff, a 6-foot table and a listing in the APEC app.

APEC sells booth spaces, priced at $4,070 in-line and $6,105 for a corner in 2027, and any design of 400 sq ft or more goes to show management for approval. Component and instrument makers mostly run 10×20 or 10×30 in-line booths; we recommend an island only when you need several live demo benches.

Four things we get right for APEC exhibitors
1Put the waveform at eye level
APEC visitors judge a part by its numbers. We mount evaluation boards under clear covers at counter height, run a scope or analyzer output to a monitor above them and label each demo with input, output and efficiency, so an engineer reads the result before asking a question.
2Design for three short sessions
The Exposition is open three hours Monday evening, all day Tuesday and until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. We plan bright, fast-reading graphics for the crowded welcome reception and quieter counter space for the longer technical conversations on Tuesday.
3Floor covering is on you
APEC requires every exhibitor to install protective floor covering at its own expense, and carpet, furniture and power are not included. We specify the flooring with the booth, often a hard surface under a heavy instrument rack, and file the T3 Expo orders before the advance deadline.
4Samples need a system
Design engineers want parts in hand. We build sample drawers sorted by package and rating into the counter, with a tablet for lead capture beside them, so your team can log a request and keep the demo running.

Where you could be at APEC 2027
APEC 2027 puts its Exposition in Halls B and C of the Morial Convention Center, a building whose divisible halls run along the Mississippi River. Here is what each area means for your booth.
Halls B and C
The APEC 2027 Exposition floor, open March 8–10, with exhibitors cleared out of the hall at close each night.
Our advice Dock-to-booth distances vary across this long building, so we ask T3 Expo for the dock serving B and C before booking freight.
Grand Hall Foyer
Home of the APEC 2027 Student Job Fair on Tuesday, March 9, 2 to 4 p.m., with 6-foot tables and a 36-inch by 96-inch display limit.
Our advice A hiring table needs its own pull-up banner within that limit; we print it with the booth graphics.
Halls A to J
The Morial's 1.1 million sq ft of divisible exhibit space stretches roughly two miles along the river, per Purple's venue guide.
Our advice Hotels in the Warehouse District sit near the upriver end; plan staff walks and sample restocks around the distance to Halls B and C.

Logistics for APEC 2027, handled
T3 Expo is APEC 2027's general services contractor for labor, furniture and material handling, while electrical and internet come from the convention center itself (ENCNO). The Exhibitor Services Kit opens on November 12, 2026, and orders placed before its advance deadline get the discounted rates. Under Louisiana right-to-work rules your full-time staff can assemble the exhibit, though the Morial lends no carts or pallet jacks. Set-up runs Saturday, March 6 by appointment and Monday, March 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; breakdown starts at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Our project manager and vetted local labor handle the install.

When is APEC 2027?
APEC 2027 runs March 7–11, 2027. The Exposition opens with the welcome reception on Monday, March 8 from 4:45 to 7:45 p.m., stays open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and closes at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10. Seminars and sessions continue through Thursday.
Where is APEC 2027 held?
At the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Blvd in New Orleans, with the Exposition in Halls B and C. It is a return to the city of the first APEC in 1986. APEC 2028 moves to the Phoenix Convention Center, March 5–9, 2028.
How much does a booth at APEC 2027 cost?
APEC's 2027 space price is $4,070 for an in-line booth and $6,105 for a corner. In-line space comes with back and side drape and an ID sign; carpet, furniture and power are extra. Our build is separate: a 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000 and a custom 10×20 $15,000 to $45,000.

Designers of power supplies, dc-dc converters, motor drives, UPS and inverters; equipment OEMs; component makers; manufacturing, quality, test and compliance engineers; and the sales and marketing side of power electronics. APEC 2026 also had about 400 students registered, the reason for the Student Job Fair.
What are the APEC 2027 set-up and tear-down times?
Set-up runs Saturday, March 6 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment only), Sunday, March 7 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Monday, March 8 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Breakdown runs Wednesday, March 10 from 2:30 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, March 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with carriers checked in by 8 a.m. Thursday.
Who is the APEC 2027 general contractor?
T3 Expo handles labor, furniture and material handling, and its Exhibitor Services Kit opens November 12, 2026. Electrical and internet are ordered from the convention center (ENCNO) and audiovisual from CCR Solutions. We place every order before the advance-order deadline.
Does an APEC booth design need approval?
Only at 400 sq ft or larger: those exhibitors submit the booth design to show management through the Exhibitor Portal. Smaller booths follow the IAEE guidelines for their size, and APEC asks any booth outside them to change at the exhibitor's expense, even on site.
What insurance does APEC require from exhibitors?
Commercial general liability of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate naming IEEE and the convention center, plus workers' compensation at state limits. APEC will not let a booth set up without the certificates, which go into the Exhibitor Portal.
How many badges come with an APEC booth?
Each exhibiting company gets one Full Conference registration and ten Exhibitor Badges (hall only) for every 100 sq ft of space; booths of 400 sq ft or more get a second Full Conference pass. There is no deadline to claim them, and lunch is included for exhibitors Tuesday and Wednesday.
Where do APEC exhibitors stay?
Attendees book APEC's discounted hotels through links in the registration confirmation email, and registration opened October 19, 2026. Exhibitors with 400 sq ft or more can request a sub-block of at least 10 rooms at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. MSY airport is 15.5 miles from the convention center.
Can we set up our own booth at the Morial Convention Center?
Your own full-time employees may build it, because Louisiana has right-to-work rules; drayage, electrical and rigging still go through the official contractors, and the building lends no dollies. We send our project manager with vetted local labor when the booth is more than a tabletop.
Is APEC worth exhibiting at?
For companies selling parts or tools to power electronics designers, it is where those engineers gather in North America: APEC calls itself the largest power electronics conference, with 300+ exhibitors and nearly 1,000 presentations planned for 2027. It is a weaker fit for finished-equipment sales to utilities.
Can we reuse an APEC booth at other shows?
A counter-based APEC booth moves well to The Battery Show, the Thermal Management Expo and the International Battery Seminar. We store it between shows and swap graphics, and APEC 2028 in Phoenix uses the same booth spaces.
