What makes IEEE PES T&D different, and how we build for it
IEEE PES T&D is the largest North American show for the hardware that moves power: transformers, switchgear, cable, insulators, protection relays and substation equipment, judged by engineers who know the standards.The IEEE Power & Energy Society runs it every two years, IEEE Conferences & Events manages it and NTP Events sells the floor. The 2026 edition in Chicago drew 18,000+ professionals from 89 countries and 933 exhibitors, and IEEE called it the largest and most successful event in its history. For 2028 the show moves to the Georgia World Congress Center with Georgia Power, Southern Company's largest electric subsidiary, as presenting sponsor, and the floor sold out early.

The 2028 show floor is sold out, and NTP Events takes waitlist requests with booth size, exhibiting history and sponsorship interest. We keep a modular island design ready so a late offer still becomes a finished booth.
In 2026 Freeman assigned target move-in times by booth location, with targeted days before general move-in. We plan equipment deliveries to the target so heavy units are set before neighbors build around them.
For 2026 the certificate of insurance and Exhibitor Appointed Contractor form were due about five weeks before move-in. We file Purple's paperwork as soon as the 2028 deadline posts.
Complimentary exhibitor badges depend on booth size, with extra badges discounted and floor access during setup, show hours and teardown (2026 rules). We size demo and meeting areas to the team your footprint brings.

T&D sells space through NTP Events from 10×10 up to large islands, and the 2028 waitlist form asks for sizes such as 10×10, 20×20 or 30×40. Equipment makers use 20×20 to 40×40 islands to show a transformer or switchgear lineup; component makers do well in a 10×20 or 10×30. We recommend an island when real equipment travels.

Four things we get right for IEEE PES T&D exhibitors
1Engineer for the real equipment
A pad-mount transformer or switchgear lineup brings weight, forklift points and clearances. We design the base, ramps and finish around the shipping weight and dimensions, and plan rigging and forklift time with the official contractor so the unit is set before carpet goes down.
2Show the inside
T&D engineers want to see windings, contacts and insulation. A cutaway, an opened cabinet behind clear guarding or a labeled sectional drawing on the back wall turns a sealed tank into a technical conversation.

Logistics for IEEE PES T&D 2028, handled
The Georgia World Congress Center campus spans Buildings A, B and C, and the 2028 T&D floor plan image is labeled Hall B. In Chicago in 2026 Freeman ran exhibitor services with targeted move-in by booth location over several days, a deadline for insurance certificates and EAC forms, and a Clean Floor Policy; the 2028 kit is not confirmed yet. Georgia's right-to-work law lets your own employees handle more of the setup than in Chicago. For heavy equipment, drayage weighs on the budget: our GWCC guide carries roughly $150 per hundredweight, 200 pounds minimum. We engineer bases, book targets and rigging, and set equipment with our project manager on the floor.

The 2028 IEEE PES T&D Conference & Exposition runs April 24–27, 2028 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Exhibit floor days and opening times for this edition are not confirmed yet; IEEE PES posts them in the exhibitor resources closer to the show.
Where is IEEE PES T&D 2028 held?
At the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW. The 2028 floor plan published on the show site is labeled Hall B. The 2026 edition was at McCormick Place South in Chicago.
How often is IEEE PES T&D held?
Every two years, in even years. The 2026 show ran May 4–7 in Chicago, and the next is April 24–27, 2028 in Atlanta. In the years between, many of the same exhibitors take booths at DTECH, which meets annually.
Can we still get a booth at IEEE PES T&D 2028?
The 2028 show floor is sold out, according to the exhibits page. Companies can join NTP Events' waitlist with their preferred booth size and sponsorship interest and are contacted if space opens. We keep a modular design ready so a late offer is still buildable.
How much does a booth at IEEE PES T&D cost?
NTP Events has not published a 2028 rate card, and the floor is sold out. For the exhibit, a 20×20 custom island with an equipment base usually runs $50,000 to $120,000, and a 10×20 rental $7,500 to $15,000; heavy equipment, rigging and a meeting room move the number.

What was move-in like at T&D 2026?
In Chicago, Freeman ran targeted move-in by booth location on April 30 and May 1, general move-in May 2 to 4, and move-out from 3 p.m. on May 7 into May 8. Insurance certificates and EAC forms were due March 27, 2026.
Does T&D offer PDH or CEU credits?
The 2026 program offered PDH and CEU credits alongside technical sessions, tutorials, panels, technical tours and the Plain Talk About the Electric Power Industry course. Engineers on your booth team can earn credits between shifts.
Can we reuse a T&D booth at DTECH?
T&D and DTECH alternate well: DTECH 2027 is also at the Georgia World Congress Center, March 1–4. We can build your 2027 DTECH island so its structure, bases and graphics return for T&D 2028, with storage in between.
Is IEEE PES T&D worth exhibiting at?
For transformer, switchgear, cable and substation makers it is the biggest U.S. floor for their buyers, with 18,000+ professionals in 2026. Because the 2028 floor sold out early, companies planning for 2030 should talk to NTP Events soon after 2028 closes.
