Booths sized against a haul truck: MINExpo 2028, last held in Las Vegas
We design MINExpo booths that hold their own beside a haul truck, with a meeting deck where a mine's buyer can talk fleet numbers. Our project manager runs install and dismantle, and our Las Vegas shop stores the booth between mining shows.
- Sept 26–28, 2028
- 2,000+ exhibitors in 2024
- Held every four years
What makes MINExpo different, and how we build for it
MINExpo INTERNATIONAL comes around once every four years, so the National Mining Association's show carries four years of product launches into three days. The 2024 edition in Las Vegas broke every prior record: 45,000 attendees, more than 2,000 exhibitors and over 850,000 square feet of exhibits, with people from 148 countries. NMA's exhibitor page explains the stakes: 90 percent of attendees are prepared to buy, 32 percent plan to spend more than $10 million, and half are first-time visitors. Buyers come from precious metals, coal, industrial minerals, stone quarrying and sand and gravel, and they walk a floor holding thousands of tons of equipment, so a supplier booth has to read clearly at machine scale.
A fleet or productivity argument they can take back to the site, cost per ton figures on a wall they can photograph, and a seated table where a multi-year purchase can be discussed in private.
The component itself at arm's length: a cutaway pump, a drill bit set, a sensor on a bracket, with a technician who can talk wear life, rebuild intervals and underground certification.
Printed spec sheets in more than one language, a clear map of dealer and service coverage by country, and a contact they can follow up with after a long flight home.
Your team in Las Vegas
Built in two shops, run by one project manager
We fabricate in our own Fishkill, NY shop and our Las Vegas hub, then ship to the venue, where our own project manager leads the install with vetted local labor. Turnaround is a predictable 30 to 45 days, with pre-show QA and secure storage for your MINExpo booth.
The booth is lit and stocked when your team reaches the venue. You just show up.
Inside MINExpo 2028
Rules that shape your booth
The National Mining Association owns and produces MINExpo, set 2028 exhibit sales to begin in summer 2026 and takes inquiries through a Request Information form. We prepare footprint options for each booth size so you can answer NMA's sales team the day it calls.
NMA warns that some websites post false MINExpo dates and tells visitors to ignore any that differ from September 26–28, 2028. We book crew hotels and freight against those dates only and treat unsolicited housing or listing offers as suspect.
minexpo.com describes a floor of three exhibit halls with more than 800,000 square feet of exhibits, sorted into categories such as Drilling & Drilling Equipment, Engineering Construction & Mining Services and Material Handling. We design your booth to stand out inside its category rather than against the whole show.
MINExpo is the four-yearly giant of mining shows, 2,000+ exhibitors in 2024; choose it over SME MineXchange when you sell machines or fleet systems to global mine operators rather than meet engineers at the yearly technical meeting. Popular booth sizes at MINExpo
NMA has not published 2028 booth sizes or rates. Haul trucks, shovels and drills set the scale of this floor, so for a first MINExpo we recommend a 20×20 island at minimum; a 10×20 works only for software, safety or services firms.

A software, safety or services booth: a live fleet dashboard on one large screen, a counter with sample sensors or wear parts, and a standing table for one buyer.

Case study · KLEEMANN
KLEEMANN at an industrial technology exhibition
For a global elevator manufacturer, an interactive booth with digital simulations, real product showcases and a floor plan that guided visitors from first step to last.
KLEEMANN made elevator engineering readable through real product and simulations; a mining supplier at MINExpo has the same job, explaining heavy machinery to buyers in a few minutes.
Read the KLEEMANN case study All case studies →“Purple Exhibits made us look good. The booth was one of the nicest displays in our section of the convention center and generated a lot of positive comments from both customers and industry peers. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond made a huge difference.”

04 Designing for mining equipment, mine technology and mine services companies at MINExpo
Four things we get right for MINExpo exhibitors
1Scale the graphics to a shovel
At MINExpo your neighbor may be a mining shovel two stories tall. We raise your brand to the height buyers scan above parked machines, use a hanging sign where the hall allows rigging, and keep product text short enough to read from the far side of a haul truck.
2Show cost per ton, not features
NMA reports that 32 percent of attendees plan to spend over $10 million. Those buyers compare total cost per ton, so we lay out one wall with uptime, rebuild interval and fuel figures for your product, printed large enough to photograph for the site manager at home.
3Build for heavy parts on the floor
Cutaway engines, buckets and cable reels weigh more than any booth fixture. We get each weight and footprint from your engineers, build plinths with steel under the deck, and plan forklift access into the booth so the part lands once and stays put for three days.
4Plan for visitors from 148 countries
NMA counted attendees and exhibitors from 148 countries at the 2024 show. We print a second language on your key panels when you name the markets, give the counter a map of dealer and service coverage, and build a quiet table where an interpreter can sit in on the conversation.

Concept rendering
A rendering like this comes with every proposal

Logistics for MINExpo 2028, handled
NMA has not named the 2028 location or building or published its exhibitor manual, so we plan from what does not change: heavy components ship on their own bill of lading with weights declared, plinths are built to each part's load, and drayage is priced as its own line once the tariff is out. Our Las Vegas shop stores your exhibit between mining shows and turns reprints fast. When the 2028 manual lands we file the exhibitor-appointed contractor form, order rigging and power, and book machine move-in slots.
What Purple handles
- Footprint planning while NMA sells 2028 space
- Steel-reinforced plinths sized to each component's weight
- Machine-scale graphics and hanging signs printed in house
- Contractor, rigging and material handling orders from the 2028 manual

MINExpo exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before MINExpo
How much does a MINExpo 2028 booth cost?
For a component maker on a 20×20 island, a custom MINExpo build runs $50,000 to $120,000, and a rental island $16,000 to $40,000. Weight decides most of it: plinths with steel decks, forklift time and heavier drayage for cutaway parts. A software firm in a 10×20 rental spends $7,500 to $15,000. NMA bills floor space separately and has not posted 2028 rates.
How do we buy exhibit space at MINExpo 2028?
Through the National Mining Association, which owns and produces the show. NMA set 2028 exhibit sales to begin in summer 2026 and takes inquiries through the Request Information form on its Exhibitors and Partners page. Rates and booth sizes are not confirmed yet on the public site, so we plan footprints for each size until your contract arrives.
Can we rent a booth for MINExpo instead of building one?
A rental fits well when your heavy component is the star: you bring the cutaway or the drill, we supply the frame, the graphics, LED lighting, a reinforced plinth and a meeting room, then take the structure back after the show. You own only the parts that carry your engineering, and the rental never sits in storage for four years.
Do you have a team in Las Vegas for MINExpo?
Purple runs its hub in Las Vegas, where MINExpo was held in 2024. The 2028 location is not confirmed yet. Wherever NMA places the show, our project manager runs your install with vetted local labor, and if it returns to Las Vegas our own Las Vegas crew installs and our Las Vegas shop can reprint a damaged panel overnight.
Can we put heavy equipment in our MINExpo booth?
Heavy machinery is what this floor is built around: NMA describes thousands of tons of equipment on show. Floor load, rigging limits and machine move-in rules for 2028 are not confirmed yet, so we take the weight and footprint of every part now and design the base and forklift path to fit the 2028 manual once NMA posts it.
What does drayage cost at MINExpo?
The 2028 material handling tariff is not confirmed yet. Show contractors bill drayage by weight, per hundredweight with a minimum per shipment, and mining components are heavy, so this line can outgrow the booth structure. We consolidate crates onto one bill of lading, ship machinery on its own declared weights and list drayage separately on your proposal.
Can we reuse the MINExpo booth at other mining and construction shows?
We build MINExpo booths in modules so the walls and plinths can travel to SME MineXchange in Denver, World of Concrete in Las Vegas or World of Asphalt with new graphics. Since MINExpo returns only every four years, reuse at the shows in between is how the structure pays for itself, and our Las Vegas shop stores it between trips.
Do you handle the show contractor orders for MINExpo?
We do. When NMA publishes the 2028 exhibitor manual we read it, register as your exhibitor-appointed contractor, and place the rigging, electrical, internet and material handling orders on your behalf. Every order is copied to you, and each form deadline goes onto the schedule we share at kickoff.
When is MINExpo 2028?
MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2028 runs September 26–28, 2028. NMA warns that some websites post other dates and asks visitors to ignore any that differ. Daily exhibit hours and move-in days are not confirmed yet; in 2024 the show ran September 24–26, also a Tuesday to Thursday.
Where is MINExpo 2028 held?
The 2028 location is not confirmed yet: minexpo.com publishes only the September 26–28, 2028 dates. The 2024 show ran in Las Vegas, where NMA pointed to new convention center space as part of that year's record, and minexpo.com describes a floor of three exhibit halls with more than 800,000 square feet of exhibits.
How many people attend MINExpo?
NMA counted 45,000 attendees, more than 2,000 exhibitors and more than 850,000 square feet of exhibits at MINExpo 2024, with people from 148 countries. Its exhibitor page adds buyer figures: 90 percent come prepared to buy, 36 percent plan to spend up to $1 million and 32 percent more than $10 million. Attendance for 2028 is not confirmed yet.
Who organizes MINExpo, and how often does it run?
The National Mining Association owns and produces MINExpo INTERNATIONAL and holds it every four years. NMA calls it the world's largest mining show, spanning exploration, mine development, open pit and underground mining, processing, safety and environmental improvement, with buyers from metals, coal, industrial minerals, quarrying and sand and gravel.
Is MINExpo open to the public?
NMA markets MINExpo to the mining industry's buyers and suppliers, and its exhibitor page reports that 45 percent of attendees attend only MINExpo and half are first-time attendees. Registration rules for 2028 are not confirmed yet, so plan your booth for industry people meeting your brand for the first time.
Before you sign for MINExpo
Ask any MINExpo exhibit builder these five questions:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who actually builds it for MINExpo: your shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor at the venue for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what does MINExpo bill?
- What happens to the booth after MINExpo, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it to the venue, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We handle the ground work for MINExpo: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager replying to your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A MINExpo rental carrying your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. On the first call, we tell you what is realistic for MINExpo.
