Quick answer

How RSA Conference booth staffing works

RSA Conference booth staff have one job that matters more than the giveaway: turning a skeptical security buyer into a named, tagged lead. Purple Exhibits books theater presenters, console pod hosts, badge-scanning brand ambassadors, meeting hostesses, booth reps and trade show models for RSAC 2027. Each person costs a flat $85 an hour in any role, and shifts run four hours or longer. Because the crew is based around the Bay, airfare and hotel rooms never appear on the invoice. RSAC 2027 runs April 5 to 8 at Moscone Center in San Francisco, and the conference returns every year.

Real Purple crews, cleared for the floor

Security buyers are trained to doubt what they are told. A crew that looks organized and speaks plainly earns the next minute. These are real Purple Exhibits teams at past events, and they show the standard we send to an RSAC booth.

Dress codes that suit a security booth

One outfit for the whole crew, or a look for each job: tailored at the meeting room, relaxed at the pods, one bold color at the aisle. Ship any branded pieces to us and we confirm sizes before move-in.

Tailored dark suit

Black or charcoal suits, white shirts and one accent color in a tie or scarf. The safe choice for a CISO room and the lead desk.

Works best: Lead desk, CISO room

Branded polo

Your polo or quarter-zip with dark trousers and clean sneakers. Practitioners talk to people who look like peers.

Works best: Console pods, challenge desk

Vendor color block

The whole front line in one strong color from your logo, so the booth is easy to find on a crowded floor.

Works best: Aisle edge, scan gate

Evening reception

Once the Expo shuts for the night: dark suits, simple cocktail dresses and polished shoes for receptions and hosted dinners.

Works best: Receptions, dinners
Crew planner

Plan your crew layer by layer

Security teams build defense in depth, and a good booth works the same way: someone on the perimeter, someone checking identity, someone showing the product and someone guarding the meeting room. Pick your stations and the plan stacks the layers, counts the people and prices it.

What we staff

RSAC 2027 staffing services

Eight jobs we cover for security vendors at RSAC, from the scan gate out to the hosted dinner, all at the same flat hourly rate.

Trade show models

In your brand colors on the open side of the booth, models give a wary security buyer a friendly reason to slow down and look.

Brand ambassadors

At the scan gate, ambassadors read every badge first and keep a long giveaway queue polite and short.

Promotional models

For a launch or a photo wall, promotional models introduce the product and hold a crowd in front of the screen.

Hostesses

Hostesses guard the CISO room calendar and handle check-in at hotel suites and customer dinners.

Product demonstrators

Presenters memorize your attack replay or walk-through and deliver it on a headset mic, just as crisp on day four as on day one.

Console pod hosts

Pod hosts guide one guest through your dashboard and pass the deep technical questions to your sales engineers.

Registration and check-in staff

Check-in staff run the RSVP list for receptions, briefings and executive dinners around SoMa.

Lead capture booth reps

Reps work your lead app on a tablet and label each scan as practitioner, manager, CISO or partner.

  • On the last setup day, the crew walks your booth and rehearses each demo with your people
  • RSVP lists for suites and dinners checked name by name
Expo, suites and receptions

During

  • Crews on the Moscone floor for the Expo hours RSAC sets inside April 5 to 8
  • Meeting suites and receptions close to Moscone covered by the same plan
  • Everyone lives in the Bay Area and makes their own way to Moscone
Evenings and next year

After

  • Customer dinners and partner receptions in SoMa and around Union Square
  • RSAC comes back to San Francisco each spring, so you can ask for the same people
  • Black Hat USA follows in Las Vegas in late summer, and we crew that show as well

Five RSAC staffing mistakes to avoid

Written up the way a red team reports a weak spot, with a severity tag and a fix you can make before move-in.

Critical

The swag line with no scanner

Handing out shirts with no scan just gives away inventory. Put one ambassador on the gate and the line becomes a lead list.

High

A theater nobody can hear

The Expo floor is loud. A replay without a headset mic and a fixed loop plays to an empty aisle.

High

Engineers explaining basics all day

Your sales engineers should take the hard questions. If they start from zero with every visitor, add pod hosts.

Medium

The CISO room with no one at the door

Executives turn up ahead of time, behind time or at the wrong door. A hostess posted outside protects the whole calendar.

Medium

A flat schedule for a wave-shaped crowd

Traffic rises and falls with the session clock. Staff the peaks, and use quiet hours for breaks and restocking.

Purple Exhibits San Francisco team
Checked by our RSAC coordinators · Updated

How much do RSA Conference booth staff and trade show models cost?

We charge a flat $85 an hour for each person, whatever the role, and each shift has a four-hour minimum. That covers theater presenters, pod hosts, ambassadors, reps, hostesses and models alike. The crew lives around the Bay, so you see no travel charges.

When is RSAC 2027?

The RSAC 2027 Conference is scheduled for April 5 to 8, 2027, at Moscone Center in San Francisco. It runs every year. RSAC gives exhibitors the Expo hours and floor plan, and we build your shifts around them.

Is the RSA Conference now called RSAC Conference?

Yes. The organizer now brands the event as RSAC Conference, and many people still call it the RSA Conference. It is the same yearly security event at Moscone Center.

Where is the RSAC Expo?

The Expo fills Moscone North and Moscone South, and most sessions run in Moscone West. Share your hall and booth number, and our team learns the closest entrances and docks before move-in.

Can your presenters run our security demo?

Yes. Email the theater script and the steps for each console pod, and book one hour of rehearsal with your engineers on setup day. Our presenters cover the scripted part, and anything deeply technical goes to your sales engineers.

Can staff use our lead retrieval app?

Yes. Our reps and ambassadors work with the scanner or app you rent, ask the questions you set and label every lead. Share the login details about two weeks out so the rehearsal can include a test scan.

How many staff does an RSAC booth need?

Start with stations: a presenter for the theater, a host for each console pod, plus one booth rep and one greeter. Add a person for a scan gate, a challenge desk or a CISO room. The planner above adds it up for you.

How far ahead should I book for RSAC 2027?

Six weeks ahead is ideal, because presenters need time to learn your demo. April is a busy month in San Francisco, so earlier is better. If you are late, we can still take a booking with 72 hours’ notice.

Where can I hire booth staff near Moscone Center?

Right here. Our RSAC crews live in San Francisco and around the Bay and get to Moscone without airfare or hotel charges. They can also cover a suite or dinner a few blocks away, still at $85 an hour.

Can I book promotional models for one day of RSAC?

Yes. One day is fine, for example your launch day or the day you expect the most traffic. The four-hour minimum applies per person, and extra days can be added later.

What happens if a staff member cancels?

During RSAC week we hold briefed backup staff in San Francisco. A substitute gets to your booth in under two hours, or that shift costs you nothing.

Are you the official RSA Conference staffing company?

No. Vendors book us on their own. Purple Exhibits is an independent company and is not connected to RSAC, the organization that runs the conference.

Can you staff a hotel meeting suite or dinner during RSAC?

Yes. Suites, dinners and receptions anywhere around Moscone are fine. The crew travels there by itself, and the rate stays $85 an hour.

Do you offer bilingual booth staff for RSAC?

Often, yes. List the languages your visitors use on the request form, and we search our Bay Area roster for people who speak them. The rate does not change.

Can Purple build our RSAC booth too?

Yes. We design, build and install exhibits for Moscone, including theaters, console pods and closed meeting rooms, and one plan can cover the booth and the people in it.
