SIR 2027 booths in Los Angeles, drawn under the city's 12-foot permit line

We build SIR booths around the device bench, so an interventional radiologist can handle a catheter or embolic during a 45-minute break and still make the next session. At the Los Angeles Convention Center we file your renderings with SIR, your engineered plans with the city, and your Freeman orders.

What makes SIR Annual Scientific Meeting different, and how we build for it

SIR 2027 is the Society of Interventional Radiology's 52nd Annual Scientific Meeting, and the Expo is built into the program rather than beside it: three days, nine dedicated breaks and two unopposed hours a day, next to the plenary sessions. Traffic comes in waves: the noon to 1:15 break follows Sunday's Opening General Session with the Dotter Lecture and the Monday and Tuesday General Sessions. The Expo floor also hosts the Innovation Theater, the IR Escape Room, Hands-On Skills Training and Meet Ups, while the new DiscovIRy Lab opens the meeting on Saturday with clinical districts and a Simulation Arena. Visitors arrive to handle devices, so the booth is a bench, not a billboard.

Practicing interventional radiologists

The device in hand at bench height, the delivery system and sizes laid out beside it, and a rep who can talk technique for embolization, ablation or venous work without a sales script.

IR residents, fellows and medical students

A station they can try without feeling they are taking a senior physician's slot, plain explanations of what each device does, and a reason to remember your name when they choose a practice.

Advanced practice providers and technologists

Set-up, prep and inventory details for the IR suite, product sheets they can take back to the department, and a short demo that fits inside a single refreshment break.

Your team in Los Angeles

Two shops, one project manager, every hall

We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the Los Angeles Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.

Your team walks into a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.

Rules that shape your booth

Islands stay 30 percent see-through

SIR islands may rise to 22 feet but must stay 30% see-through on all four sides, 9 feet on a 30×30, with full drawings to SIR by January 7, 2027. We mark the open runs on every elevation before you approve the design.

Organizer rule

Over 12 feet needs city stamps

At the LACC, structures over 12 feet, platforms over 30 inches and large truss or cantilevers need wet-stamped engineered plans approved by the city's Building and Safety department and the Fire Marshal. We commission the engineering as soon as you sign off.

Organizer rule

Investigational devices declared at application

Devices awaiting FDA approval, including IDE, PMA and 510(k) devices, are identified to SIR when you apply for space, with the FDA pending-approval letter sent before promotion; devices sold only outside the U.S. carry clear labels. We print that labeling into the bench graphics.

Organizer rule

No live radiation on the floor

Demo equipment may pose no radiation hazard, hazardous energy beams are disabled before installation, and therapy or screening on people is banned; ultrasound runs on phantoms or hired models. We build consoles as display units with their beams locked out.

Organizer rule

Hanging signs above 400 square feet only

SIR allows hanging signs only over islands larger than 400 square feet, rigged through Freeman, with the top at 22 feet and the banner no more than 8 feet tall. We size the sign to those limits and place the Freeman rigging order for you.

02 Booths & pricing for SIR Annual Scientific Meeting 2027

Popular booth sizes at SIR Annual Scientific Meeting

SIR sells 10×10 inlines and multiples, corners, perimeter booths with 12-foot back walls, and islands from 400 square feet. A hanging sign needs an island larger than 400 square feet, so a 20×20 cannot fly one. We recommend a 10×20 inline with one device bench, or a 20×30 island when you need a sign and a meeting room.

04 Designing for interventional radiology device, embolic, ablation and imaging brands at SIR Annual Scientific Meeting

Four things we get right for SIR Annual Scientific Meeting exhibitors

Wall-mounted soap, sanitizer and paper towel dispensers in a medical room1

Design for nine breaks, not three days

SIR's Expo runs 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the floor fills in nine dedicated breaks: mid-morning, a long noon to 1:15 lunch and 2:30 to 3:00. We put the device bench on the aisle edge, size it for six people at once, and keep sell sheets within reach so a demo fits a 30-minute window.

2

Zone the booth by procedure

At SIR 2026, registrants named interventional oncology (1,040) and embolization (952) as their top interests, ahead of arterial (695) and venous (444) work. We group your products by procedure rather than by catalog, with a labeled bench per zone, so a physician walking in for liver-directed therapy finds it without asking.

3

Thirty percent open, one room closed

SIR islands must stay 30% see-through on all four sides, and the LACC caps covered areas at 750 square feet, with a battery smoke detector in any covered space over 100. We frame the island in open truss and mesh and put the one closed meeting room at the core, under that cap.

4

Bring your own floor and quiet light

SIR's exhibit hall is not carpeted, so every booth needs flooring, and flashing lights and balloons are banned, with sound held to 85 decibels at the aisle. We ship padded flooring with the crates, aim every fixture inside the booth line and point speakers into the space.

Logistics for SIR Annual Scientific Meeting 2027, handled

Freeman is SIR's official service contractor, and the Los Angeles Convention Center floor is Local 831 territory for exhibit installation, which is why we register as your exhibitor appointed contractor and file the EAC form and insurance certificate by February 4, 2027. Freeman receives at its advance warehouse from February 16 and at the hall from March 18. Anything over 12 feet, platforms over 30 inches and large truss need wet-stamped engineered plans approved by the city's Building and Safety department and the LACC Fire Marshal. South and West Halls are mid-construction for the Olympic expansion, so we book dock times early. SIR's Maritz block runs from the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, the headquarters hotel, to the AC Hotel directly across from the center.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Los Angeles Convention Center exhibitor guide.

Hall guide

SIR lists the Los Angeles Convention Center's South Building for 2027, with the Expo next to the plenary sessions. The campus is mid-construction for the Olympic expansion, which shapes docks and access.

South Building

The South Building holds South Hall, which was added in 1993 at roughly 347,000 square feet and is now being connected to West Hall to form one space of more than 750,000 square feet.

Our advice: We book Freeman targets and dock times early and route freight around the construction zone, so your crates reach the booth on the first move-in day.

Concourse foyer Poster Hall

SIR puts the Traditional Poster displays in the Concourse foyer, with presenters at their posters on Monday, March 22 from 4:45 to 6 p.m.

Our advice: That session starts after the Expo closes at 3:15, so we plan your staff evening and any approved off-floor event around it rather than against it.

Corporate suites and demo suites

SIR rents corporate suites and meeting rooms at the convention center and its hotels, and hands-on or educational meetings there must run outside program hours or in dedicated breaks.

Our advice: A suite suits a console too large for the floor; we design and install it like a booth, and SIR's layout deadline for corporate suites is February 18.

What Purple handles

  • Island renderings to SIR by January 7 and final plans to the LACC by February 11
  • Wet-stamped engineering for structures over 12 feet and platforms over 30 inches
  • EAC form, insurance certificate and Freeman orders
  • Device benches, flooring and lighting built to SIR's line-of-sight rules
  • Freight to Freeman's advance warehouse and return shipping
  • Our own project manager on the LACC floor from move-in to teardown

Timeline, counted back from move-in

Island booth renderings due to SIR (20×20 and larger): January 7, 2027. SIR reviews every island drawing before the LACC sees final plans on February 11, so a design approved by mid-December 2026 keeps both reviews on schedule.

We need design sign-off by mid-December 2026.

  1. Mid-December 2026Design sign-off; island renderings with dimensions, elevations and the 30% see-through marked for SIR's review.
  2. January 7, 2027Island renderings due to SIR for any booth of 20×20 or larger; engineering starts on anything over 12 feet.
  3. January to early February 2027Production in Fishkill, NY in a 30–45 day build; EAC form and insurance certificate filed with SIR by February 4.
  4. February 11–18, 2027Two sets of final plans to the LACC by February 11; crates to Freeman's advance warehouse from February 16, ahead of the February 18 discount deadline.
  5. March 18–20, 2027Move-in at the Los Angeles Convention Center; our project manager and vetted local labor install, then run every device bench before opening.
  6. March 21–24, 2027Expo days March 21–23; dismantle from 3:15 p.m. on March 23 into March 24, then the booth goes to storage or your next show.

Purple planning timeline. Official move-in, freight target and order deadlines come from your exhibitor kit and assigned schedule; we confirm them against your booth when you book.

SIR Annual Scientific Meeting exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before SIR Annual Scientific Meeting

How much does a booth at SIR 2027 cost?

At SIR the working tier is a 10×20 inline: $7,500 to $15,000 to rent, $15,000 to $45,000 custom, while a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. Here the price moves with stamped engineering above 12 feet, see-through framing and the flooring the bare hall requires. SIR bills space on top: $6,300 per inline 10×10 or $65.50 per square foot for islands in 2027.

When are island booth drawings due for SIR 2027?

Booths of 20×20 or larger send renderings with dimensions, elevations and components to SIR by January 7, 2027, then two sets of final plans to the Los Angeles Convention Center by February 11: plan, elevations, isometric, egress paths, covered area and structure. Signing off the design by mid-December 2026 leaves room for engineering before both dates.

Can we rent a booth for SIR, and what does a rental include?

Our SIR rentals bundle the frame, printed fabric, LED fixtures, a device bench with lockable storage and the padded flooring SIR's uncarpeted hall requires, with shipping, install and teardown priced in one fixed proposal. Island rentals come framed to the 30% see-through rule. After March 23 the rental comes back to us, so you store nothing.

Can we set up our own booth at the Los Angeles Convention Center?

Local 831 holds exhibit installation work at the LACC, meaning a built booth goes up with Freeman labor or a registered exhibitor appointed contractor. SIR requires every EAC to file its own form and a certificate of liability insurance by February 4, 2027. We file both as your contractor and run the crew with our own project manager.

Can we demonstrate imaging or energy-based devices at SIR?

SIR's rules allow demonstrations that pose no radiation hazard, and any hazardous energy beam must be made inoperative before installation. Therapy and health screening on people are banned, ultrasound may be shown on phantoms or live models your company hires, and lasers or UV lighting need written approval. We build the console bench and shielded storage around those limits.

Can we show a device that is still awaiting FDA clearance at SIR?

SIR asks exhibitors to identify devices awaiting FDA approval, including IDE, PMA and 510(k) devices, when they apply for space, and to send the FDA pending-approval letter before promoting them. Anything cleared only abroad needs a conspicuous label saying so. We print that labeling into the bench graphics so the display matches what SIR approved.

What does drayage cost at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and who pays it?

Plan roughly $175 for every hundred pounds, 200 pounds minimum, our 2026–27 figure for this building; Freeman bills it at its SIR kit rate. Freight can reach the advance warehouse from February 16, 2027, the advance freight discount runs to March 11 and on-site receiving opens March 18. We crate consolidated, list drayage as its own proposal line and track every shipment.

Which hall is SIR 2027 in?

SIR lists the LACC's South Building as its 2027 venue, and the Expo sits beside the plenary sessions, with the Poster Hall in the Concourse foyer. South Hall, added in 1993 at roughly 347,000 square feet, is being joined to West Hall in the Olympic expansion, so we plan dock routing around the construction.

Can we reuse our SIR booth at other meetings?

Benches and frames come apart and regroup, which lets one SIR build travel on to the SVS Vascular Annual Meeting in San Diego in June, TCT or RSNA in Chicago with new graphics for each crowd. Between meetings it stays in our storage, has its benches swapped for the next product line and travels to whichever warehouse that meeting names.

When is SIR 2027?

SIR 2027, the 52nd Annual Scientific Meeting, runs Saturday, March 20 to Wednesday, March 24, 2027. The Expo is open Sunday to Tuesday, March 21–23, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with move-in March 18–20. The next meetings are set for Philadelphia on March 18–22, 2028 and Anaheim on April 7–11, 2029.

Where is SIR 2027 held?

SIR 2027 meets in the South Building of the Los Angeles Convention Center, downtown at 1201 South Figueroa. The headquarters hotel is the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, and Maritz is the only official housing provider. The LACC puts Pico Station, on the Metro A and E Lines, about eight minutes away on foot.

How many people attend SIR?

SIR 2026 drew 4,466 total registrants: 2,524 professional attendees, including 1,001 practicing IR physicians, 361 IR residents and 408 IR-focused medical students, plus 1,855 exhibitor personnel. SIR reports that 78% of registrants visit the exhibit hall and that 86% came from the United States.

Is SIR open to the public?

No. Attendees register with an SIR account, the Expo is limited to registrants and qualified exhibitors, and children under 16 are not allowed in the exhibit hall. SIR members and other interventional radiologists cannot be registered as exhibitor staff, and one-day Expo passes go on sale in February.

How do I get a booth at SIR 2027?

SIR sells space through its Exhibitor Marketplace, open to all companies since July 7, 2026. A 50% deposit is due within 30 days of booking and the balance by December 1, 2026; later bookings pay in full within 30 days. Products must relate to interventional radiology, and Priority Points decide the order in which returning exhibitors choose space.

Before you sign with anyone

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for SIR Annual Scientific Meeting:

  1. Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
  2. Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
  4. What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
  5. Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
