What makes ASBMB Annual Meeting different, and how we build for it
The ASBMB exhibit hall is where the meeting happens in the afternoon. Each day from April 4 to 6 the floor opens at 1 p.m. and carries the poster presentations, the coffee lounges, the career and funding agency talks in the Hub, Fireside Chats in exhibitor booths and rapid review sessions with journal editors, so traffic follows the science rather than a break schedule. The Herlitz Company sells the space, ranking returning companies through the Exhibitor Loyalty Program, which counts Experimental Biology purchases since 2019 as well. The 2027 program, chaired by Amy Palmer and Mike Henne, runs from enzymology and metabolism to structural biology and chemical biology, and the society expects nearly 3,000 researchers in Boston.
The people who make the final call on a purchase: they want the assay data, the price per sample and a straight answer on lead times, then a quote that fits a grant budget.
Hands-on users who evaluate options and recommend products: kits, reagents and cell culture supplies they can pick up and compare, plus protocols and application notes to take back to the bench.
Course materials, textbooks and journals, training and career openings, and a booth that explains a technique clearly enough to use in a classroom.
Your team in Boston
From our two shops to the ASBMB Annual Meeting floor
We fabricate in our own Fishkill, NY shop and our Las Vegas hub, then ship to the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, where our own project manager leads the install with vetted local labor. Turnaround is a predictable 30 to 45 days, with pre-show QA and secure storage for your ASBMB Annual Meeting booth.

ASBMB Annual Meeting rules that shape your booth
ASBMB ranks companies by Exhibitor Loyalty Program points and schedules selection appointments in that order: points for each year exhibited since 2019, two per 10×10 bought, one per $1,500 of sponsorship. We plan footprints that still work if your first location is gone.
Space bought at Experimental Biology meetings since 2019 earns ASBMB points, while history points are forfeited after three straight years away. We keep a record of your ASBMB and EB purchases so your ranking is right when you book.
Each 10×10 includes standard pipe and drape, an identification sign, one scientific registration and two exhibitor staff badges; carpet, furniture and electrical are ordered at extra cost. We supply flooring, furniture and lighting in your build so nothing is left to onsite rates.
Tech Talks, scheduled in-booth product demos, the emerging investigator seminar and the reception sponsorship are reserved for exhibitors. We design the booth so a listed demo has room for a standing audience inside your own space.
Programs worth planning for
Twenty-minute exhibitor presentations with standard AV, listed in the program schedule and one of the main draws to the exhibit hall; $4,000 each, limited, exhibitors only.
Recruitment tabletops for universities, graduate programs and employers to meet students and early-career scientists: $300 per tabletop through November 16, 2026, $350 after, with a regular deadline of January 15, 2027.
A $1,000 program that flags new products or product enhancements for ASBMB members and attendees, so researchers can find what is new on the floor.
An exclusive Saturday lunchtime seminar for graduate students and postdocs: the sponsor pays for lunch and gets ten minutes to speak about the company. $1,500, exhibitors only.
ASBMB is the biochemistry society's spring meeting, with about 2,300 to 2,800 registrants a year; choose it over the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting when your reagents, kits and protein tools serve bench biochemists more than structural biophysicists. 02 Booths & pricing for ASBMB Annual Meeting 2027
Popular booth sizes at ASBMB Annual Meeting
ASBMB sells booth space by the 10×10 at $3,650 each, with a $200 corner fee, and exhibitors combine units into longer inlines. Reagent and instrument companies here mostly run 10×20 or 10×30 inlines; we recommend a 10×20 for a reagent line and a 10×30 when a benchtop instrument needs its own demo bay.

Two ASBMB units side by side: a reagent and kit wall at the back, a sample counter at the front and a screen looping application data for postdocs who stop between posters.

Case study · Pixee Medical
Pixee Medical at a medical technology congress
Demo-first and focused: every visitor could try the augmented-reality surgical guidance while traffic kept moving through the booth.
Pixee Medical built a booth where each visitor could test the product without stalling the aisle; ASBMB's afternoon rush from the poster boards asks the same of a reagent or instrument booth.

04 Designing for reagent, protein analysis, lab equipment and life science publishing companies at ASBMB Annual Meeting
Four things we get right for ASBMB Annual Meeting exhibitors
1Built for the 1 p.m. surge
ASBMB opens the hall at 1 p.m. on April 4, 5 and 6 with posters and afternoon coffee inside, so the crowd arrives at once. We keep your front six feet clear for a line of visitors, put the sample counter at the aisle and stage restock bins under it.
2Top-ten products, front and center
ASBMB's 2026 registrants ranked lab equipment and supplies, assay kits, biochemical reagents and cell or tissue culture supplies as their top interests. We give those categories the eye-level shelf and the largest graphic, with catalog numbers printed large enough to photograph from the aisle.
3A seat for the Fireside Chat
Fireside Chats in the booth are one of the hall features ASBMB promotes, and a listed in-booth product demo costs $1,500 on the meeting app. We build a four-seat corner with a small screen so a chat or demo has a place to happen without blocking your neighbors.
4Back Bay freight, not BCEC freight
The Hynes is the smaller of Boston's two halls, with 176,480 square feet over four halls and freight elevators to the Level Two halls. We size crates for those elevators, label them by hall and keep the kit light enough for a 1-to-6 p.m. show.

Where you could be at ASBMB Annual Meeting 2027
The Hynes has four exhibit halls on two levels, usable in any combination. ASBMB has not published which halls its 2027 exhibits use, so here is what each part of the building means for a booth.
Halls A and B, Plaza Level
Visitors reach Hall A (38,770 square feet) from both Boylston Street and the Prudential Center side; Hall B (36,900 square feet) lets trucks drive onto the floor.
Our advice A Plaza Level booth gets the most walk-in traffic from the street side, and freight to Hall B can roll straight onto the floor, which keeps instrument crates moving.
Halls C and D, Level Two
Hall C has 37,750 square feet and Hall D 37,730, both with high ceilings and a connection to the Sheraton Boston; Hall D is close to column-free.
Our advice Upper-level freight rides the freight elevators, so we keep crates to elevator size and schedule them early in move-in.
Loading docks
Fourteen weather-protected docks with seven truck levelers, a few minutes' drive from the interstate.
Our advice We book a dock window for your shipment and label every crate with hall and booth so it lands in the right place on the first trip.

Logistics for ASBMB Annual Meeting 2027, handled
The Hynes sits in Back Bay with 14 weather-protected loading docks, seven truck levelers, a drive-on floor in Exhibit Hall B and large freight elevators serving Halls C and D on Level Two. Boston's union jurisdiction applies here as at the BCEC: your own staff may handle only limited tasks below set size and height limits, so we book local labor for anything more. Our drayage planning number is roughly $190 per hundredweight (minimum 200 pounds); we ship to the decorator's advance warehouse and place every order from ASBMB's exhibitor manual before the February 20, 2027 deadline. Our project manager runs install and dismantle on site.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for the building that hosts ASBMB Annual Meeting are in our Hynes Convention Center exhibitor guide.

ASBMB Annual Meeting exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before ASBMB Annual Meeting
How much does a booth at ASBMB cost?
Two budgets add up. ASBMB charges $3,650 per 10×10 unit plus a $200 corner fee, and a university, nonprofit or federal lab pays $2,400 for its first unit. The booth itself, from Purple, runs $7,500 to $15,000 as a 10×20 rental and $12,000 to $22,000 as a 10×30 rental. Running instruments, electrical and Hynes drayage move the total most.
What are the ASBMB 2027 exhibitor deadlines?
Priority points close October 31, 2026, and the booth balance is due December 1. After that the exhibitor manual arrives in December, your company description is due January 9, 2027, and booth orders to the decorator close February 20, 2027. Approving your design in the last week or two of January gives production time to finish before that order date.
Can we rent a booth for ASBMB?
A Purple rental for ASBMB is a complete inline: fabric back wall printed with your graphics, a lockable sample counter, shelving for kits and reagents, LED lighting, a monitor mount and flooring, with freight, install and dismantle on one fixed proposal. ASBMB's own fee covers only pipe and drape and an identification sign.
Can our own staff set up our booth at the Hynes?
Only partly. Boston's union jurisdiction covers the Hynes the same way it covers the BCEC, so exhibitor staff may handle limited tasks below set size and height limits. Anything larger, including lighting, structure and forklift work, goes to union labor, which we book for you.
Can exhibitors give a talk or product demo at ASBMB?
ASBMB sells both, to exhibitors only. A 20-minute Tech Talk with standard AV costs $4,000 and appears in the program, and a scheduled product demo inside your booth is listed on the meeting app for $1,500. We build the booth around the demo so the audience stands inside your space.
What does drayage cost at the Hynes, and who pays it?
The exhibitor pays it, billed by weight through the decorator. For 2026 and 2027 our Hynes planning figure is close to $190 per hundredweight, minimum charge at 200 pounds, and the exact tariff comes with ASBMB's exhibitor manual in December. Instruments and their cases add weight, so we price drayage as a separate proposal line.
Which hall will the ASBMB exhibits use at the Hynes?
ASBMB has not published its 2027 hall assignment; the hall is not confirmed yet. The Hynes has Halls A and B on the Plaza Level and Halls C and D on Level Two, connected to the Sheraton Boston. We route freight once the floor plan shows your hall.
Can an ASBMB booth be reused at other Boston shows?
Boston also hosts PEGS Boston and Bio-IT World in May, and the same reagent wall travels well to ASM Microbe or IMMUNOLOGY2027 with new graphics. Between meetings we store the kit and refresh the panels for each audience.
Do you handle the decorator orders and exhibitor manual forms?
We do. When ASBMB releases its exhibitor manual and service kit in December 2026, we read it, then place the carpet, furniture, electrical, labor and material handling orders before the February 20, 2027 deadline and copy you on each confirmation.
When is ASBMB 2027?
ASBMB 2027 runs Saturday, April 3 to Tuesday, April 6, 2027. The exhibit hall opens with a reception on April 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., then runs 1 to 6 p.m. on April 4, 5 and 6, with posters and coffee breaks in the hall.
Where is ASBMB 2027 held?
In Back Bay, Boston: the meeting fills the Hynes, officially the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, on Boylston Street. The Westin Copley Place is the headquarters hotel, and ASBMB's discounted block also includes the Sheraton Boston, Boston Marriott Copley Place and The Revolution Hotel.
How many people attend the ASBMB Annual Meeting?
ASBMB counted 2,346 registrants at its 2026 meeting in National Harbor, Maryland, and 2,791 at the 2025 meeting in Chicago. For Boston the society expects nearly 3,000 researchers from industry, academia and government.
How do I get a booth at ASBMB 2027?
Through The Herlitz Company, ASBMB's exhibit and sponsorship management team, on the ASBMB 2027 booth reservation site. First-time exhibitors get 25 percent off the inline rate, and returning exhibitors are scheduled for selection appointments by Exhibitor Loyalty Program points.
Who exhibits at ASBMB?
Suppliers of laboratory equipment, assay kits, biochemical reagents, cell and tissue culture supplies, cloning and protein purification, custom synthesis, software and journals, the categories ASBMB says attendees search for. University, nonprofit and federal government exhibitors pay a reduced $2,400 for their first 10×10 in 2027.
Before you sign for ASBMB Annual Meeting
