A classroom with a register: Premiere Columbus 2027 booths in Columbus

Premiere Columbus is the Midwest's long-running classroom show, where Ohio stylists, barbers, nail techs and students earn CE hours and then shop the floor. We build compact Hall D booths with a teaching chair, a retail wall and a checkout, sized for one hall and two busy days.

  • Sep 12–13 · Hall D
  • 10,500 visits in 2026
  • 27th edition in 2026

What makes Premiere Columbus different, and how we build for it

Premiere calls Columbus the Midwest's classroom, a role it has played for more than 27 years, and education drives the floor. The 27th edition, October 11–12, 2026, drew 10,500 visits, up 10% on 2025, with more than 150 classes across hair, barbering, spa, nails and business, 80+ educators and more than 100 exhibitors. Ohio-licensed cosmetologists can pick up continuing education credits that their educators report to the state board, the Color Stage debuted beside the Main Stage, and the Barber Battle, powered by L3VEL3 and sponsored by JRL, runs live in front of a crowd. The whole floor sits in one hall, so every booth is close to the classrooms.

Ohio cosmetologists renewing a license

Many come for the required CE hours and use the rest of the day to shop. They want to see a technique they can use Monday, buy the product at a show price and keep the receipt for the salon.

Barbers and barber students

The Barber Battle and barber classes draw a crowd that buys clippers, trimmers and shears on the spot after testing the weight and the blade.

Salon owners from across the Midwest

Owners come to stock shelves and service stations before the busy season, and the Value Center discounts help. They want volume pricing and a rep to call after the show.

Premiere Columbus rules that shape your booth

Own staff may set up and self-unload

The Premiere Columbus FAQ lets full-time employees set up their own booth and unload their own vehicles at a designated area, without forklifts, pallet jacks or flatbeds. Heavier freight comes in with our shipment.

Organizer rule

Printed credentials to enter the floor

Premiere uses printed show badges, and its Columbus FAQ says no one is allowed on the show floor during setup without credentials. Our project manager registers through your booth staff allocation.

Every Premiere Columbus exhibitor must carry general liability insurance, through ExhibitorInsurance.com or a rider on an existing policy. Purple's certificate covers our people and the build.

Case study · French Avenue

French Avenue at a fragrance and beauty trade show

A premium fragrance environment built around discovery, with a flow designed for real conversations and product sampling.

French Avenue needed a premium space where trying a fragrance led to the sale; at Premiere Columbus the teaching chair plays that part, and the counter a few steps away closes it.

04 Designing for professional hair, barber, nail and skin care brands at Premiere Columbus

Four things we get right for Premiere Columbus exhibitors

Black and white close-up of a barber's clippers trimming a client's hair1

Teach in the booth, sell at the counter

Premiere Columbus visitors arrive in class mode. We give your educator a lit chair with a headset microphone and a small audience rail, then route people from the demo to the counter so the technique they just watched turns into a purchase.

Hairdresser styling a man's curly hair with a hair dryer in a studio2

A booth sized for one hall

With the whole show in Hall D, aisles fill quickly when a class lets out. We keep the counter and stock inside the booth line, use slim retail fixtures and leave a clear corner so a crowd watching a demo does not block your neighbors.

Barber cutting a client's hair in a classic barbershop3

Show deals that stock a salon

Premiere says 93% of Columbus attendees bought on the floor in 2025 and 47% spent over $250. We design shelving for bundle kits and backbar sizes, price cards readable from the aisle and a back closet to refill between the Sunday and Monday rushes.

Hairstylist cutting a client's hair with scissors and a comb4

Light for color and skin

The Color Stage made color a 2026 highlight. We use high color-rendering bars around 4000 kelvin at the chair and soft front light at the counter, so blondes, reds and skin results read true to the stylist and on a phone camera.

Where you could be at Premiere Columbus 2027

Premiere Columbus uses a single hall, Hall D in the North Building of the Greater Columbus Convention Center, with classrooms and stages close by.

Greater Columbus Convention Center, ColumbusSchematic, not to scale
A

North Building, Hall D

The whole cash-and-carry floor, with more than 100 exhibitors in 2026 and the Value Center discounts on professional products.

Our advice One hall means short walks and quick crowds; we keep counters inside the booth line so a class-break rush does not spill into the aisle.

B

Main Stage and Color Stage

Live stage education, with the Color Stage new in 2026; standing-room crowds filled the stage sessions, per Premiere.

Our advice Brands near the stages get the crowd after each session, so we time in-booth demos to start as stage sessions end.

C

Barber Battle area

The Barber Battle runs live in front of an audience, with a JRL clipper set for every competitor in 2026.

Our advice Barber tool brands should staff up and restock for the hour after the battle.

Logistics for Premiere Columbus 2027, handled

Premiere Columbus fills Hall D in the North Building of the Greater Columbus Convention Center on High Street, next to the Short North. Purple's venue guide notes the center runs as a non-union building, and the Premiere FAQ allows an exhibitor's regular employees to assemble the booth and self-unload at a set area as long as no forklift or pallet jack is involved. Freeman was the decorator for carpet at the 2026 show, and electricity comes from the convention center. Our planning figure for material handling here is about $130 per hundredweight. We ship from Fishkill, supervise the install ourselves and design the build to go up fast once the 2027 move-in schedule is posted.

Premiere Columbus exhibitors can find this building's hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines in our Greater Columbus Convention Center exhibitor guide.

Premiere Columbus exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before Premiere Columbus

When is Premiere Columbus 2027?

Premiere Columbus is Sunday and Monday, September 12–13, 2027, a month earlier than the October 2026 show. The floor and classrooms share one schedule: doors at 9 a.m., closing at 5 p.m. the first day and at 4 p.m. the second.

Where is Premiere Columbus held?

The show uses Hall D in the North Building of the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 North High Street. Premiere names the North Surface Lot and the Goodale Garage as the closest parking, with daily parking at $20.

How many people attend Premiere Columbus?

The 27th edition, October 11–12, 2026, welcomed 10,500 visits from beauty professionals and students, a 10% increase on 2025, per Premiere. More than 100 exhibitors and 80+ educators took part.

Is Premiere Columbus open to the public?

Only licensed beauty pros and enrolled beauty-school students get in; the public cannot buy a pass. Premiere also keeps out relatives or friends tagging along, and nobody younger than 16 is allowed.

Can attendees earn Ohio CE credits at Premiere Columbus?

Premiere offers continuing education classes for Ohio-licensed professionals, and educators upload attendance to the state board. Ohio renewals also need a 3-hour infection control course and a 1-hour laws and rules course that the board provides through CE Broker.

Can exhibitors sell at Premiere Columbus?

Selling from the booth is the point: Premiere markets Columbus as a cash-and-carry floor built around live demos. Premiere reports that 93% of 2025 attendees made purchases on the floor and 47% spent over $250, and the Value Center offered discounts on professional products in 2026.

How much does a booth at Premiere Columbus cost?

Space is quoted by Premiere's sales managers and Premiere keeps a 50% deposit, non-refundable, from signing. For the build itself, a rented 10×20 with a teaching chair and shelving usually falls between $7,500 and $15,000; a custom 20×20 sits between $50,000 and $120,000.

Can we set up our own booth at the Greater Columbus Convention Center?

Your own full-time people may build the booth, per the Columbus exhibitor FAQ, and they may unload their own vehicles without forklifts, pallet jacks or flatbeds. Larger builds go faster with show-approved labor and tools, run by your Purple project manager.

Is carpet included in a Premiere Columbus booth?

The Columbus FAQ for the 2026 show said booths came without carpet; flooring was not required but strongly recommended and could be rented from Freeman, and drayage could apply. Power is a convention center order, not a Freeman one.

What is the Barber Battle at Premiere Columbus?

A live professional barber competition powered by L3VEL3 and sponsored by JRL. The 2026 champion was Akash of Nova Hair Studio in Pickerington, Ohio, with a JRL combo set and trophy for the top pro. 2027 details are not confirmed yet.

Which airport serves Premiere Columbus?

John Glenn Columbus International Airport is about 6 miles from the convention center, per Premiere, with rideshare, taxis and COTA public transit. The center is reached from I-71 and I-70.

Who exhibited at Premiere Columbus 2026?

More than 100 exhibitors filled the floor, including first-time Columbus brands American Crew, House of Foils and Ulta Beauty, which ran classroom education and hands-on learning at its booth, per Premiere.

How does Premiere Columbus compare with Premiere Orlando?

Columbus is a two-day regional show in one hall, built around Ohio CE and Midwest salons, with 10,500 visits in 2026. Orlando each June is the national flagship of the Premiere network with a full education day first.

Is Premiere Columbus worth exhibiting at?

For brands selling to Ohio and Midwest salons and barbershops, it puts a loyal, class-going crowd one aisle from your booth, with strong floor buying. National brands that need West Coast or Southern reach add Anaheim or San Antonio.

Before you sign for Premiere Columbus

  4. What does the rental include, and what is billed by Premiere Columbus?
