OFC buyers walk the floor with a link budget in their head, so the booth puts the module, the eye diagram and the engineer who can explain it within one arm's reach. We build to the 20 ft island cap in South and West Halls and run Freeman's targeted move-in at the LACC.

What makes OFC different, and how we build for it
OFC is where the optics inside AI data centers get bought.Optica manages it with IEEE ComSoc and the IEEE Photonics Society, and the 2026 exhibition sold out at 706 exhibitors on 210,346 net square feet. Inside OFC 2027
Rules that shape your OFC booth
OFC sells inline, perimeter and island booths only; inline back walls stop at 8 ft with a 4 ft limit on the front half of side rails (2027 manual). We design long inline runs to read from the aisle inside those lines.
Islands reach 20 ft in South and West Halls and 16 ft in Kentia Hall, where hanging signs and double decks are banned; designs need OFC approval by January 6, 2027. We submit drawings and sign specs together.
Structures over 12 ft, video walls over 12 ft and platforms over 30 inches need LACC review and a City of Los Angeles LADBS permit, with isometrics due January 20, 2027. We prepare the stamped package.
Lasers, UV and strobe lighting must meet facility rules and be approved in writing by OFC, and sound should stay near 85 decibels at the aisle (2027 manual). We file the request and aim speakers inward.
The LACC hall is not carpeted for OFC and every booth must provide its own flooring, or show management carpets it and bills the booth. Our flooring travels in the first crate and goes down before any wall.
Programs worth planning for
Show floor program on optics for AI and cloud data centers, one of the theater tracks that drew crowds to 45 floor presentations in 2026; open to exhibit badges, so plan booth coverage around it.

OFC sells inline and perimeter booths in 10×10 units with pipe and drape, plus islands; it does not sell end caps, peninsulas or split islands. For a first OFC we recommend a 10×20 inline with two live demos, and for an established module or test brand a 20×20 or 20×30 island in South or West Hall.

Four things we get right for OFC exhibitors
1Run the link, show the eye
OFC visitors trust a live measurement more than a render. We build demo counters with ventilated bays for the rack, fiber patch routing hidden behind the fascia and a monitor at eye height for the eye diagram or BER readout, so the proof sits beside the module.
2Draw to the LACC permit lines
Anything over 12 ft, any video wall over 12 ft or a platform over 30 inches needs LACC review and a City of Los Angeles LADBS permit. We draw to those lines from the first sketch and send isometrics before the January 20, 2027 deadline.
3Design around the theater schedule
Market Watch, Data Center Summit and the Network Operator Summit pull crowds into the three show floor theaters at set times. We plan staffing peaks and a briefing bench for the hour after each session, when operators come back to the floor with questions.
4Floor every square inch
The LACC exhibit area is bare concrete at OFC and show management requires every booth to bring flooring. We spec raised flooring or padded carpet with cable channels, so fiber, power and data run under foot and the demo counters stay clean.

Where you could be at OFC 2027
Freeman's 2027 target plans split OFC across three LACC halls, and the island height limit changes with the hall. Your contract names the hall; this is what each one allows.
South Hall
Islands and multi-story booths up to 20 ft including signage; hanging signs rigged by Freeman inside the booth footprint.
Our advice The place for a tall island with a hanging sign; we draw the sign and structure together so the total stays under 20 ft.
West Hall
Same 20 ft island and multi-story limit as South Hall, with its own colored target move-in days on Freeman's plan.
Our advice Check your target color early: West Hall booths may move in on a different day from South Hall neighbors.
Kentia Hall
Islands capped at 16 ft; hanging signs, double-deck and multi-story booths are not permitted.
Our advice Height has to come from the structure itself, so we put a lit tower or tall back wall inside the 16 ft line.
05 Los Angeles Convention Center · Los Angeles
Logistics for OFC 2027, handled
Freeman runs OFC 2027 at the Los Angeles Convention Center with targeted move-in from Thursday, March 4 to Monday, March 8, each booth assigned a colored target day on the South, West or Kentia Hall plans. The Freeman advance warehouse in Anaheim takes crated freight from January 28 and charges a late fee after February 23, 2027, and the LACC accepts show-site freight only from your target date. The building is a union floor and electrical orders go through Edlen. We file the EAC notice by January 21, book your target, ship to Anaheim, run the install with our own project manager and vetted Los Angeles labor, and clear the hall before the 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13 cutoff.

What are the OFC 2027 dates?
The OFC 2027 technical conference runs March 7–11, 2027, and the exhibition runs March 9–11. The OFC Quick Facts sheet sets the floor open from 10 in the morning both Tuesday and Wednesday, closing at 5, with a 4 p.m. close on the Thursday.
Where is OFC 2027 held?
OFC 2027 is at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S Figueroa St in downtown Los Angeles. Freeman's target plans for 2027 use South Hall, West Hall and Kentia Hall, and each hall has its own height rules for island booths.
How many attendees are at OFC?
OFC 2026 drew nearly 18,000 attendees from 91 countries and 706 exhibitors on 210,346 net square feet, per Optica's post-show release. For 2027 the organizer expects 20,000 attendees from 73 countries, 750 exhibitors and 130 invited speakers.

How tall can an OFC booth be?
Islands may reach 20 ft including signage in South and West Halls and 16 ft in Kentia Hall, where hanging signs and double-deck booths are not allowed. Inline booths stop at 8 ft and perimeter booths at 12 ft, with a 4 ft limit on the front half of side rails.
Can we hang a sign over our OFC booth?
Hanging signs are allowed over islands only, rigged exclusively by Freeman, kept inside the booth footprint and under the 20 ft overall height. OFC must approve booth designs and hanging signs by January 6, 2027, 30 days before move-in; we file the drawings for you.
What are the OFC 2027 exhibitor deadlines?
The key 2027 dates are January 6 for island and hanging sign approval, January 9 for exhibitor housing, January 20 for LACC isometrics, January 21 for EAC forms, February 4 for insurance and Freeman discount orders, and February 23 for the last on-time advance warehouse delivery.
Can we use our own installer at the LACC?
OFC allows exhibitor-appointed contractors that follow show and venue rules and carry the required insurance, with a $150 fee per booth serviced. We register as your EAC by January 21, 2027 and our project manager leads the LACC crew from crate to handover.
When is OFC 2027 move-in?
Move-in is targeted: every booth gets an assigned day between Thursday, March 4 and Monday, March 8, 2027, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., shown by color on Freeman's hall plans. Early arrivals can be held off site, so we build the freight plan around your target.
Do we need to bring flooring for an OFC booth?
Every OFC exhibitor must cover the booth floor, because the exhibit area is not carpeted and only the aisles get Freeman's carpet. OFC's 2027 sample budget prices standard carpet for a 10×10 at $400; we include flooring and padding in our proposal instead.
Can we run lasers or loud demos at OFC?
The OFC exhibitor manual asks that lasers, UV and strobe lighting meet facility rules with written organizer approval, and that sound stay under about 85 decibels measured from the aisle. We point speakers inward and file the approval request with the drawings.
What hotels are near the Los Angeles Convention Center for OFC?
MCI Housing is OFC's exclusive official housing partner, and the exhibitor housing deadline is January 9, 2027. The JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton at L.A. Live are the closest towers to the convention center campus, an easy walk to South Hall.
We ship from Asia or Europe. Can Purple build our OFC booth?
We build the booth in Fishkill, NY or Las Vegas, ship it to Freeman's Anaheim warehouse, install it on your target day and store it between shows, so your team flies in with only demo hardware. Pavilion exhibitors with PhotonDelta, KAPID or WGS get graphics and counters to the pavilion's rules.
