Fiber to every door: Broadband Communities Summit 2027 booths in Houston

Summit buyers are apartment owners, city broadband officials and network builders deciding who wires their buildings, so the booth has to show service in a real home. We build for the George R. Brown, where Texas right-to-work rules let your own staff assemble the booth.

  • Jul 20–22 · George R. Brown
  • 150+ exhibitors, per organizer
  • With Connected America

What makes Broadband Communities Summit different, and how we build for it

The Broadband Communities Summit is where the people who own buildings meet the people who wire them.Run by Broadband Communities magazine as part of Total Telecom, it grew out of the multifamily sector, and the Broadband Communities Awards have been part of it since 2004. The 2027 program runs keynotes plus Multifamily, Communities, Institutions & Properties, Finance & Frameworks, and Networks & Infrastructure tracks, and for the first time it shares the George R. Brown with Connected America. A free ticket program brings public officials, multifamily owners, electric co-ops and utilities onto the floor, so booths here sell to property and community decision-makers, not only engineers.

Multifamily owners, developers and operators

What residents get: speeds, Wi-Fi coverage in every unit, smart-building features and revenue share, shown in a room they recognize.

Municipal, state and tribal broadband officials

Proof of delivered projects, funding and partnership models, and a team that can explain permitting and build timelines plainly.

Network operators and builders

The gear and services behind the build: fiber, enclosures, construction, OSS and billing software, with specs and references at hand.

Your team in Houston

From our two shops to the Broadband Communities Summit floor

Our Fishkill, NY production shop and our Las Vegas hub build the booth, we ship it to the George R. Brown Convention Center, and our own project manager runs the Broadband Communities Summit install on the floor with vetted local labor. Expect a 30–45-day build for Broadband Communities Summit, secure storage and a pre-show QA.

When your team gets to Houston, the booth is lit and stocked. You just show up.

  1. Co-located with Connected America

For the first time the Summit shares the George R. Brown with Connected America, which brings national operators, policymakers and enterprise leaders onto the same floor. Expect a wider mix of visitors than the multifamily core. source

  2. Moves from August to July

The 2026 Summit's awards ran August 26, 2026; the 2027 event runs July 20 to 22, about five weeks earlier, so production and freight deadlines move up. source

Rules that shape your Broadband Communities Summit booth

Fireproof stand materials

Terrapinn's exhibition rules require all materials used for building, decorating, draping or covering stands to be non-flammable or fireproofed. We specify certified fabrics and keep the certificates with the booth.

Organizer rule

Contractors need written consent

No contractor may enter the exhibition without Terrapinn's written consent, and space-only exhibitors build their complete stand. Your stand plan goes to Terrapinn with our consent request weeks ahead of move-in.

Organizer rule

Electrical by appointed contractors

Extra electrical apparatus and connections are installed at the exhibitor's expense only by Terrapinn's appointed contractors, and shell scheme structures may not be altered. We design lighting and screens around that and order power through the official channel.

Organizer rule

Startup pavilion eligibility

Startup pods are open to companies with under $2 million in revenue, founded after 2020 and with fewer than 30 employees. We make pod graphics and a compact counter that fit the pavilion format.

A global elevator manufacturer’s interactive booth: real product showcases, digital simulations and a floor plan that guided visitors from the first step to the last.

04 Designing for fiber, wireless, multifamily broadband, managed Wi-Fi and network technology providers at Broadband Communities Summit

Four things we get right for Broadband Communities Summit exhibitors

Couple on a sofa streaming a show on a wall-mounted TV at home1

Build the resident's living room

Multifamily owners buy the resident experience, not the switch. We build a small furnished corner with a TV streaming, a laptop on a video call and the access point on the wall, so an owner sees what a unit gets on your network.

Utility worker in a yellow shirt handling lines among overhead cables on a residential street2

Show the build, not just the service

The Networks & Infrastructure track covers permitting, civil work and subcontractors. We pair the lifestyle corner with a build wall: fiber, conduit, an enclosure cut open and a map of a delivered project, so builders and officials both find their part.

Black and white photo of a technician on a utility pole surrounded by cables3

Make funding and partnership readable

Public officials on free passes come to learn financing and frameworks. We set a clear panel on funding models and partnership structures you support, with project references, so the conversation starts on facts.

Downtown Houston skyline seen from Interstate 454

Fire-safe materials, Terrapinn rules

Terrapinn's exhibition rules require non-flammable or fireproofed materials for building, draping and covering stands, and electrical work by its appointed contractors. We specify certified fabrics and route power orders through the official channel.

Where you could be at Broadband Communities Summit 2027

The organizer has not published a 2027 floor plan. These are the George R. Brown halls Houston shows use, per the Purple venue guide; the building has 1.8 million square feet and 88 meeting rooms, per the organizer.

AHalls B, C and D (Level 1)
BHall E
CMeeting rooms
George R. Brown Convention Center, HoustonSchematic, not to scale
A

Halls B, C and D (Level 1)

About 125,000 to 127,000 sq ft each, column-free, used for trade shows of 300 to 600 booths.

Our advice Islands and hanging signs are routine in these halls, so a 20×20 can carry a sign seen across the shared Connected America floor.

B

Hall E

About 130,000 sq ft, added in the 2003 expansion, with newer construction and modern dock access.

Our advice If the show uses Hall E, freight moves faster through the newer docks, which helps a one-day install.

C

Meeting rooms

88 meeting rooms totaling 124,000 sq ft, per the organizer's venue page, where the conference tracks run.

Our advice Track rooms pull owners and officials away from the floor, so we place demos to catch them on the way back.

Logistics for Broadband Communities Summit 2027, handled

Downtown Houston's convention campus has a METRORail North Line stop just north of the building, and the Hilton Americas connects by skywalk. Under Texas right-to-work rules, company employees can put up the stand themselves, though dock-to-booth freight stays with the show's exclusive contractor. Terrapinn's rules require written consent for any outside contractor on the floor and the official contractor for electrical work. We file those forms, ship to the advance warehouse, plan drayage at around $95 per hundredweight and send our own project manager to run the install.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for the building that hosts Broadband Communities Summit are in our George R. Brown Convention Center exhibitor guide.

What Purple handles

  • Resident-experience corners with live streaming and Wi-Fi
  • Build walls with fiber, conduit and cut-away enclosures
  • Shell scheme graphics and counters
  • Terrapinn contractor consent and electrical orders
  • Freight, drayage and right-to-work setup at the George R. Brown
  • Storage and reuse for Fiber Connect and SCTE TechExpo

Broadband Communities Summit exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before Broadband Communities Summit

What are the Broadband Communities Summit 2027 dates?

July 20 to 22, 2027 in Houston. July 20 is the pre-event day and July 21 to 22 are the main event days, per the organizer. Floor opening times for 2027 are not confirmed yet.

Where is the Broadband Communities Summit 2027 held?

In downtown Houston at the George R. Brown, alongside Connected America in the same building. The 2025 and 2026 Summits were also in Houston; the 2026 awards ceremony was held at the George R. Brown on August 26, 2026.

How much does it cost to exhibit at the Broadband Communities Summit?

The Summit sells sponsorships and stands through its sales team and a downloadable prospectus, without rates on the website. On our side, a rented 10×20 with your graphics costs $7,500 to $15,000 and a custom 20×20 $50,000 to $120,000, with a resident demo corner adding to it.

How many people attend the Broadband Communities Summit?

The organizer cites 2,500+ attendees from 1,000+ organizations, 150+ exhibitors and 300+ speakers across 10 content streams over three days, for the Summit and Connected America together.

Who exhibits at the Broadband Communities Summit?

The 2026 sponsor and exhibitor list included AT&T Connected Communities, Comcast Cable Communications, Verizon Enhanced Communities, Optimum, Calix, Cambium Networks, RUCKUS Networks, Zyxel, Dycom Industries, Oldcastle Infrastructure, Sitetracker and RealPage.

What is Connected America?

A strategy forum for telecom operators, government bodies and their partners, co-located with the Summit for the first time in 2027 at the George R. Brown, July 20 to 22. It covers AI demand, data center expansion, rural buildouts and funding models.

Can startups exhibit at the Summit?

Startups with under $2 million in revenue, founded after 2020 and with fewer than 30 employees can apply for a pod in the startup pavilion, which includes conference access, the networking app, a website listing and 5 guest passes.

Is the Broadband Communities Summit free for some attendees?

A limited free ticket program covers U.S. public officials, multifamily and student-housing owners, utilities, electric co-ops, healthcare and education connectivity managers, ISPs, data center owners and non-profits, subject to approval. ISP sales staff selling into multifamily and managed Wi-Fi companies are excluded and buy vendor passes.

Can we set up our own booth at the George R. Brown?

Right-to-work Texas lets full-time employees of your company build the stand with their own tools. Moving freight from dock to stand remains the exclusive contractor's job, and an outside builder such as Purple needs Terrapinn's written consent first.

What does drayage cost at the George R. Brown?

We budget roughly $95 per cwt (200 lb minimum) for George R. Brown freight in 2026 and 2027, plus surcharges for late, off-target or uncrated freight. The exact rate is in the exhibitor kit, and we put it on your proposal.

What are the Broadband Communities Awards?

Awards presented at the Summit since 2004, with categories such as Broadband Provider of the Year, Broadband Project of the Year, Multifamily Partner of the Year and Construction Partner of the Year. The organizer says they return in 2027.

What hotels are near the George R. Brown for the Summit?

Book through the Summit's official accommodation portal, which holds the official room block. The organizer warns that housing pirates may pose as its agents and says it never calls attendees to sell rooms.

Can Purple build our Summit booth and reuse it?

We build the resident corner and build wall as modular pieces that also fit Fiber Connect in June and SCTE TechExpo in September, and we store them in Fishkill, NY or Las Vegas between shows.

When should we book a Broadband Communities Summit 2027 booth?

Agree the stand or sponsorship with the Summit's sales team early in 2027, then sign off the design and ask Terrapinn for contractor consent by early May 2027. That leaves 30 to 45 days of production in Fishkill, NY or Las Vegas and late-June freight to the Houston advance warehouse.

  3. Who from your team is on the Broadband Communities Summit floor for install and dismantle?
  4. What does the rental include, and what is billed by Broadband Communities Summit?
  5. Where does the booth go after Broadband Communities Summit, and what does storage cost?
