Eye diagrams draw the crowd: DesignCon 2027 booths in Santa Clara

What makes DesignCon different, and how we build for it
DesignCon is Informa's chip, board and systems design event in Silicon Valley, now more than 30 years old, and it is built around a 15-track conference written by engineers for engineers. The expo hall holds the Chiphead Theater for free talks and demos, the Booth Bar Crawl at the close of each day, and the Engineer of the Year and Best Paper Awards before the keynotes. Visitors arrive with a channel, a stack-up or a power delivery problem in mind: per Informa, 75% have an active or planned project. A booth earns its traffic with a running measurement, readable from the aisle, and an engineer who can talk insertion loss without a script.
A live channel or fixture with the measurement on a large screen, the test conditions printed beside it, and an applications engineer who can open the touchstone file on request.
Laminate, connector and cable samples they can handle, stack-up drawings at readable size, and a stool at a counter to sketch a routing question.
A short story of what the product shortens or saves, a quiet corner for a roadmap conversation, and a quick route to quotes and evaluation units.
Your team in Santa Clara
From our two shops to the DesignCon floor
Production happens in our own shop in Fishkill, NY, and at our Las Vegas hub, and we ship to the Santa Clara Convention Center and install with vetted local labor, led by our own project manager on the floor. Every DesignCon build runs a predictable 30 to 45 days and gets a pre-show QA, with secure storage after.
Your team arrives at DesignCon to a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.
New at DesignCon 2027
- Three weeks earlier in the calendar
DesignCon 2027 opens February 2, against February 24 in 2026. Production, freight to the contractor's warehouse and staff travel all move up by about three weeks, so the design brief has to land before the year-end holidays. source
- VIP Guest Invites for exhibitors
Informa describes its VIP Guest Invites Program as new: a free dashboard with your promo code, banners and ready-made email invites. Customers you invite get a free expo pass, which helps fill the two short expo afternoons. source
Inside DesignCon 2027
Rules that shape your DesignCon booth
Exhibitors complete a booth review form in the Exhibitor Portal so Informa can check the design against display and safety rules. We supply the drawings, heights and power layout the form asks for before production starts.
Each 10×10 of booth space carries up to five exhibitor badges, collected on arrival, and extra badges are charged. We plan demo stations so your badge count covers both expo days without overlap.
Informa keeps every person younger than 18 out of both the show floor and the session rooms. Booth staffing and any family travel plans need to follow that rule.
Informa's official show contractor supplies furnishings, material handling, labor, rigging, freight, signage, cleaning and electricity, with contacts posted in the Exhibitor Portal. We place those orders and warn you away from unofficial vendors.
Programs worth planning for
Recognizes an engineer for leadership and creativity in chip, board or system design with attention to signal and power integrity, presented before a keynote; Lambert Simonovich won in 2026.
The free stage on the expo floor for presentations, workshops, demonstrations and expert panels, open to every pass type during expo hours.
Launched in 2024, it gives rising engineers full DesignCon education and a mentor breakfast; Informa says nominations for the next class will open soon.
A free pre-show marketing dashboard for exhibitors with a promo code, banners and email invites; invited guests pay nothing for the expo or save 10% on conference packages.
DesignCon is the West Coast meeting point for signal integrity, interconnect and board design; choose it over DAC when your buyers design channels, packages and boards rather than chip logic, and you sell test gear, cables or laminates. 02 Booths & pricing for DesignCon 2027
Popular booth sizes at DesignCon
Informa prices DesignCon space by booth option and counts exhibitor badges per 10×10 unit, so footprints run from inline units to larger peninsula and island spaces on the floor plan. For a working channel demo we recommend at least a 10×20 with two measurement stations; three or more demos call for a 20×20.

Two measurement stations, one for the live channel and one for the sample wall of connectors or laminates, with a monitor pair high enough to read over a crowd.

Case study · KLEEMANN
KLEEMANN at an industrial technology exhibition
For a global elevator manufacturer, an interactive booth with digital simulations, real product showcases and a floor plan that guided visitors from first step to last.
KLEEMANN guided visitors from a simulation to the real product; a DesignCon booth works the same way, from the live eye diagram to the connector in an engineer's hand.
Read the KLEEMANN case study All case studies →“Purple Exhibits made us look good. The booth was one of the nicest displays in our section of the convention center and generated a lot of positive comments from both customers and industry peers. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond made a huge difference.”

04 Designing for high-speed design, signal integrity, test, interconnect and PCB materials companies at DesignCon
Four things we get right for DesignCon exhibitors
1Put the eye diagram at eye level
DesignCon visitors judge a link by its eye opening and jitter numbers. We mount a large display above each instrument so the live trace reads from ten feet away, and we label the data rate, channel and fixture so nobody has to ask what they are looking at.
2Plan instrument power and cooling
Oscilloscopes, network analyzers and BERTs run hot all day in the Santa Clara hall. We size circuits for every bench, leave ventilation space inside counters and route cables under a raised edge so probes and fixtures stay steady when the aisle gets busy.
Make small parts readable
Connectors, cable assemblies and laminate swatches are tiny next to a booth wall. We build shallow lit shelves at standing height, add enlarged cross-section graphics and keep a tray of loose samples an engineer can pick up during a Booth Bar Crawl conversation.
Design for a two-day expo
The expo is open only Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., while sessions run in the mornings. We schedule demos and talks for the open hours, give staff a hidden reset area and build a booth that comes back to life fast after the lunch rush.

DesignCon exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before DesignCon
What are the DesignCon 2027 dates?
DesignCon 2027 runs Tuesday, February 2 to Thursday, February 4, 2027. Conference sessions start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and 8 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and the expo floor is open February 3 and 4 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., per Informa.
Where is DesignCon 2027 held?
DesignCon fills the Santa Clara Convention Center at 5001 Great America Parkway, in the middle of Silicon Valley. San Jose Mineta International is the nearest airport, with San Francisco and Oakland also listed by the organizer, and convention center parking is complimentary.
How many people attend DesignCon?
DesignCon 2026 recorded 6,400+ total event attendance and 195 exhibiting companies, according to Informa's event snapshot. The organizer's exhibitor page also cites a 33:1 attendee to exhibitor ratio and says 89% of attendees have a role in purchasing.
Who exhibits at DesignCon?
The 2027 exhibitor list on Map Your Show includes test and measurement makers such as Keysight Technologies, Tektronix and Rohde & Schwarz, connector and cable companies such as Samtec, Molex and Amphenol, laminate suppliers such as Isola Group and Rogers Corporation, and EDA vendors such as Cadence and Synopsys.
How much does a booth at DesignCon cost?
Informa does not post a rate card: booth space is priced by show brand and booth option through its sales team. The build is separate; a 10×20 rental with two demo counters typically runs $7,500 to $15,000 and a custom 20×20 island $50,000 to $120,000, with instrument benches and screens moving the number most.
What are the DesignCon expo hours?
The expo hall opens Wednesday, February 3 and Thursday, February 4, 2027, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Conference sessions fill the mornings, so most booth traffic lands in the afternoon and during the Booth Bar Crawl at the end of each day.
When is move-in for DesignCon 2027?
Informa's exhibitor FAQ still lists the 2027 move-in and move-out windows as pending, so they are not confirmed yet. We plan production so your booth is crated and at the contractor's warehouse by mid-January, then match labor to the target times as soon as they are posted.
How many badges come with a DesignCon booth?
Exhibitors receive up to five badges per 10×10 booth, picked up on arrival, and badges beyond that limit cost extra. A 10×20 therefore covers ten staff, enough for two demo stations running in shifts across both expo days.
How does DesignCon priority point ranking work?
Each exhibitor earns one priority point for every year it exhibits plus one point for every $3,500 spent on booth space and sponsorship that year, and media spend counts at the same rate. Points accrue yearly and shape space selection for the next edition.
What are the DesignCon 2027 exhibitor deadlines?
Informa's exhibitor FAQ has not posted the 2027 service and move-in deadlines, so they are not confirmed yet. Every booth design goes through the booth review form in the Exhibitor Portal, and we plan to have your booth crated and at the contractor's warehouse by mid-January 2027.
What booth rules apply at DesignCon?
Exhibitors complete a booth review form in the Exhibitor Portal to show the design meets display and safety rules, and Informa's client services team reviews it. We prepare the drawings, heights and electrical layout for that form as part of every DesignCon build.
Can you set up live measurement demos at DesignCon?
We build counters and towers around your instruments, fixtures and evaluation boards, order a circuit for every bench and leave ventilation inside the cabinets. Your applications engineers bring the hardware; we make sure it is powered, cabled and readable from the aisle when the doors open at 11 a.m.
What hotels are near the Santa Clara Convention Center for DesignCon?
The organizer's room block is at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, which connects to the convention center. Fly into San Jose Mineta International (SJC), and park free at the convention center during DesignCon.
What is the difference between DesignCon and DAC?
DesignCon centers on board, package and channel design, signal and power integrity and the test gear and interconnects behind them, while DAC in San Jose in July focuses on chip design automation, EDA and IP. Several EDA vendors attend both; test, cable and laminate suppliers lean toward DesignCon.
Before you sign for DesignCon
Five things to ask every builder quoting DesignCon:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the DesignCon show contractor bills?
- Does your own shop build the booth, or do you subcontract it?
- Will your project manager be on the floor at the Santa Clara Convention Center for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- What happens to the booth after DesignCon, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh its graphics, repair what is worn, ship and install it for DesignCon, and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to DesignCon.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We handle the ground work for DesignCon: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager replying to your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A DesignCon rental carrying your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. You will know on the first call what is realistic for your DesignCon date.
