The Scottsdale Princess opened in December 1987 and became the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in 2000, growing into the largest meetings facility anywhere in the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts portfolio worldwide, more than 316,000 sq ft split across two stand-alone conference centers. It's also the official resort of the WM Phoenix Open, sitting next to TPC Scottsdale with guest access to the tournament through a private entrance at the 5th hole. History
1987 to the WM Phoenix Open
The resort opens as the Scottsdale Princess on desert acreage northeast of the city.
The property is rebranded the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess after merging with the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand.
The resort becomes the official host resort of the WM Phoenix Open, sitting beside TPC Scottsdale with a private guest entrance to the tournament at the course's 5th hole, known for its rowdy stadium-style atmosphere.
