Why this page exists
The Kentucky Exposition Center is enormous by any standard: 1.2 million sq ft of display space alone, part of a Kentucky Venues campus with 1.4 million sq ft indoors and 356 acres of outdoor grounds. Its signature event is the National Farm Machinery Show, which began as an electrical demonstration in 1963, took its current name in 1966, and now draws more than 300,000 visitors and 800 exhibitors as the self-described largest indoor farm show in the world, worth roughly $17 million a year to the Louisville economy. Kentucky's right-to-work law, in effect since 2017, shapes labor rules here as it does across the state. This guide covers the exhibit space, labor rules, drayage, the National Farm Machinery Show and the rest of the calendar, and hotels near the fairgrounds.
