A 1918 Italian Renaissance-style landmark that has grown into more than 315,000 square feet of meeting space, a 125,000 sq ft Bartolin Hall added in the resort's newest expansion, and mountain views that come standard. What exhibitors need to know at Colorado's most storied resort.

Why this page exists
Mining magnate Spencer Penrose spent more than $2 million, roughly $34 million today, building The Broadmoor's Italian Renaissance-style main building, which opened June 29, 1918. More than a century of additions, the International Center in 1961, Colorado Hall in 1982, the Rocky Mountain Ballroom in 1994, and most recently the 125,000 sq ft Bartolin Hall, have grown the property into a full-scale meetings destination without losing the mountain-resort character that made it famous. What changes when your booth goes on hotel carpet?
Most spaces at The Broadmoor run on carpet, not a concrete exhibit floor. That changes a few things about how your booth gets built.
History
Since 1918
Spencer Penrose buys the site's existing casino, hotel and 450 surrounding acres in 1916; the New York firm Warren and Wetmore designs the new Italian Renaissance-style main building, which opens June 29, 1918, at a cost of more than $2 million.
The International Center opens in 1961, Colorado Hall follows in 1982, and the 12,000 sq ft Rocky Mountain Ballroom opens in 1994, steadily building the resort's dedicated meetings capacity.
A further 60,000 sq ft of meeting space is added in October.
The 125,000 sq ft Bartolin Hall opens as the newest addition, bringing the dedicated Convention Center at the Broadmoor past 200,000 sq ft and the resort's total meeting space to 315,000 sq ft.

Hotels, transit, crew logistics
- Airport: Colorado Springs Airport is about 15–20 minutes; Denver International is about 90 minutes.
- On-site: guest rooms are part of the resort itself.
- Nearby: Seven Falls and the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, both owned by the resort, are short drives away.
